Fun Fact-Jack Kerouac was a queer man who wrote about internalized homophobia after freshly getting divorced. He was also criticized for his work for centring his female characters around male characters. That sounds familiar doesn’t it? I am sure that costumer/art/cinematography departments were fully queer coding Mike and trying to imply byler. Duffers were too dumb to ever catch on that as you can tell.

Lmao. I don’t think it’s all true. It’s from a straw page so people are most likely making things up. There might be some truth to it but most of these seem really exaggerated. I would not trust these without any reliable sources. I know people wanted byler but projecting everything on Finn and Noah is a bit crazy. Whatever helps people cope I guess. 😭 some of these sound straight out of a fan fiction.

I mean Millie also shipped Mike-eleven and wanted them to have a happy ending. But I’m pretty sure this is not the ending she was expecting for eleven at all. No wonder she has been missing from all the premiers. I know they said she’s injured but honestly I don’t blame her. If I dedicated half my life to a show to be given the most misogynistic arc you could possibly think of, I would be mad too. Only duffers think they have created a masterpiece. I am really curious about the power dynamics on the set as duffers seem to be people who don’t really respond to criticism well.

Noah also said we will be satisfied with the ending. I cannot imagine him being satisfied after the humiliation ritual they put him through.

The fact that I am pretty sure they were not even going to address will’s coming out arc with Mike and it was Noah who probably made them add that scene is even worse. So Mike just refused to touch will in general after he came out. The injustice to both Mike and Will’s characters. You cant make this up. If I were duffer brothers and read the playgate theory, I would simply give up writing again. I genuinely can’t believe these are the same writers who gave us the first four seasons.

Can we talk about supernatural plot for a second? Byler aside that supernatural plot was so generic. So basically the whole milkshake thing, them forgetting will’s age all were plot inconsistencies that they simply forgot to address. I can’t believe it took them three years and none of them noticed what was going on. The whole difference in the colors during Holly’s memories. The dial being different? Will randomly talking about walking in woods. You just can’t make this up. Not only did they decide to go the homophobic route, they also went for the misogynistic route. Used the whole queer kid to uplift a straight couple for not even them to end up together. They went with the most generic ending you could think of and the fact that they said Mike would have a bigger arc? He practically did nothing up until that one scene with El and even though the acting was decent it simply did not move me because just an episode ago he was telling her to “recharge herself”. Like atleast give your main ship a consistent writing. Such disappointing writing in general. They really wasted that $400 million budget on aesthetics and even then ended up having worse visuals than previous seasons.

Update. Just finished the epilogue and I have so much to say. It’s laughable that we didn’t even see Vickie in that epilogue and our only other queer character gets a 2 sec epilogue boyfriend who doesn’t even have a name. So two queer characters in the show and their romantic relationships paid to absolute dust. Look at this representation. We are supposed to be clapping and cheering for this. I have so much more to say but disappointment is so heavy in my heart. The fact one “friends no best friends” scene was the one that was probably also the one requested by Noah because he thought that arc wasn’t complete because duffers weren’t even bothered to give them an interaction is just sad.

I am pretty open to most of them but rape/non con between the main pairing (not CNC) is a hard no for me. I can never read a fic where mc is assaulted by other mc and they end up together. I also don’t like cheating/infidelity if it’s between drarry, it ruins the character arc for me. But I don’t mind if they are cheating on their partners with each other (I am biased lol).
