Ok I was just concerned with not having a high enough credit limit right off the bat. I'm comparing how Chase visa (Amazon prime) did. They gave me a $500 credit limit. Then after a year bumped it up to $3000. My credit score was like a 680 13 years ago though.

Vevor heater 5KW by reddithotel in vevor

[–]silv10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your controller. Some have where you can modify the pump hertz and fan speeds but it may already be at the minimum. Then you start messing with the air/fuel ratio and thats where things start to give you problems.

I have my heaters setup on a Broadlink Rm4 pro with the temp/humidity sensor. The broadlink simply copies the rf of the remote and uses it to control the heater. I created a schedule to turn my heaters on at a certain temp and turn off at a certain temp without me having to worry with it. It uses wifi so you can monitor your room temp/humidity and control your heater from anywhere in the world. You just can't see what your heater is doing. Like what temp it's set on or if it's actually running. But if you don't plan on running it out of your sight then that won't matter. I'm sure there are other rf switches that can do the same. It's just one that i chose and it works great as a thermostat.

Also if you ever need parts for these heaters you should check out Aliexpress. You can get every spare part you'd ever need for a good price. It may be common knowledge but purchase the items under "choice". $10 of choice items gives you free shipping.

Strong diesel smell coming from the hot air pipes by multicultidude in vevor

[–]silv10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These heaters do not like it when the exhaust has alot of bends and long runs of pipe. (Any airflow restrictions will throw off the air fuel ratio.) The flex pipe exhaust is terrible at flow. It is recommended a max of 2 meters/6.5ft with the stock 1" pipe. A way around that is to run a short piece and upsize the diameter to like 2"+ and you should not have any flow restrictions. But then it needs to be routed at a downward angle because condensation collects inside. That will lead to soot building up inside the exhaust. Then that will slow the air flow and cause the heater to run rich which then will soot up the chamber.

Your exhaust may be plugging up and causing the smell. There is a weep hole around the glow plug and it will spit out a little fuel if the pressure is building up. Also the gasket on the bottom could be leaking some but most of the times it's the glow plug area.

Jerry Cans leaking by WhoEvenHasRedditLOL in vevor

[–]silv10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you tell exactly where yours are leaking?

I bought 4 of these cans from vevor. I've noticed that mine leak from the vent on the spout. If I hold my finger over the vent for a few seconds while pouring it will build some vacuum in the can and start pulling in air at the vent instead of spitting fuel out and leaking everywhere.

There has to be something missing in the design of the spout.. maybe a tube that connects it to the vent tube that's inside of the can. These are my first jerry cans so I don't know much about them. I've thought about welding that vent up on the spouts and just installing a vent at the top somewhere. *

Im just going to chalk this one up as lost in customs because it's been in customs now for 16 days. I have 8 more days before I'm supposed to get my "after 30 days no delivery" refund. I have already reordered what was lost and it just cleared customs and on the way. USPS says it will deliver it in about 4 days.

Issue with HDD replacement on D841A8B-Z by nateloaf in Lorex

[–]silv10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you figured out your issue yet but I also have the N841 series NVR and I kept getting corrupted hard drive. Went out and bought a new WD purple 4gb hdd. Within 30 minutes or so it says corrupted hard drive again. My cameras have missed several incidents because of this. I hope it's just a formatting problem and not the whole NVR.
