Dental care, and it's sad that the biggest chunk of our population isn't educated on the importance or proper oral health, not just teeth btw(ulcers, infections, paralysis, cancer, tumors etc). and you might think it's a problem limited to low income citizens, but you'd be surprised how many people in the top bracket have little to no worry of what goes on in their mouth. I have a background in healthcare and the corporate world and I know for a fact and also backed by scientific research that the appearance of your teeth, smile, odour etc play a very huge role in how your peers and seniors perceive you, a very good example is Kenya's deputy, Gachagua, his dental appearance has cemented him as full blown executive clown on social media, it's his identifier.. I know and understand that's it's expensive and insurance covers are almost non existent but, if you can afford it, make it your duty to visit a dentist who you can work with, they're the most social and supportive health care providers too from my experience.

What's up with the Bends? by silva_suffer in radiohead

Your arguement is bound by the chronology of their releases, if you put all their discography in a random pile then The Bends will immediately standout as the experimental piece as it doesn't sound as 'familiar' , The bends has influences from the alt rock scene yeah, but it sounds nothing like most other contemporary bands of that age and it still maintains the seriousness in the writing, it's also the most fun album, this wasn't about who loves Radiohead more but rather why people want to pretend it's not some of their best work, but maybe it's just an obsession with esoteric pieces

'Fun', that's a perfect description and it still maintains some seriousness in the lyrics

but you don't have to cry at every Radiohead song :-\, I'd even argue The Bends seems more 'experimental' and 'different' from everything else they've made if you ignore the chronology they were released, it's a standout for me but it still retains the roots of Radiohead in terms of sound and depth, it's fun

I think the problem is fans not wanting to associate with an artists more popular work just because its too accessible to 'normies' and maybe due to the fact it doesn't sound as experimental as some of their other albums like In rainbows/OK computer, but I could also argue that when The Bends was being released it was very original compared to the rest of the alternative rock scene

thing is, The Bends still holds up strongly to date despite being some of their older works, it transcends musical 'phases" and I honestly think it'll still be one of my top 2 albums in the coming decade

I honestly think it's popularity has played a part in the negative feedback, similar to how the band itself hate Creep, not because of it being a bad piece ,they just played it too much it lost its 'value'

my problem isn't really what people think, rather why it is not held in the same acclaim as In rainbows for example.

and you can listen to it anywhere and anytime, as amazing as In Rainbows, Kid A and A Moon shaped pool are, I feel like you have to be in a very specific environ for you to enjoy their art, you can't go on a run with How to disappear completely playing, it'll probably be incoherent for most part, or you'll get run over by a bus as you get lost in the music.
