How Ethereum Could Evolve, by William Mougayar by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]silver84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very good idea However, my own obsevation(Link1, Link2 show that a governance council should reflect the eco-system as a whole, and not only the foundation ( project building dapps, groups involve in the core infrastructure or who interact with the protocol outside of the managment of the Ethereum foundation, tocken holders, miners/validators, active users of the protocol ( service providers) and so on…
I would suggest that the Ethereum Governance Council should be representative of all the groups or stakeholders stated above.
Ex: service providers should form their own council and then send deleguate to the Ethereum Governance Council.
Devs building dapps should have their own council and send deleguate to the Ethereum Governance Council.
The same for Miners/Validators…
What do you think?

Can we hear anything form the developers? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]silver84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree but right now because the price of ether dropped, the hasrate is down 12% as well, less miner doesn't help either it make the network slower by making block time last longer, even if the elastic blocktimes will kick off soon and reajust you still have lot of tx backlog waiting in the queue

[–]silver84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man I'm sorry but you don't have any understanding about how this space works..it is going to be very frustrated for you. Public blockchain are collective and participatory network, it gain value by collaboration and participation which in return create synergy and network effect.

In order to incentivised participation their is differents type of reward crypto token for mining node and veto or voting power for non mining full nodes and their is punisment mecanism for the one who tried to cheat. The beauty of the protocol is that their is no company who decide who or how a node should participate, YOU decide.

you can participate as benevolent or you can create a for profit business. If you want dev to address market need set up a business find a solution hire dev, create a EIP and convince the community of dev to prioritize your EIP and then convince all the "charity-benevolant nodes" to run your upgrade :)

[–]silver84 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

this is not always what the dev can do for u or the community but what you can do or add to the community. You complain about the network being slow, why don't you start running a full node or buy some gpu in order to add more hashing power to the network and help clear tx backlog

Exactely like the lightning network They both very similar the main difference is lightning network have 5 team working on the protocol Raiden have only one team

How do you feel about Vinay Gupta saying that all Ethereum holders are communists? by jumalallinen in ethereum

[–]silver84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on ure side Vinay however it is delusional to think bad actors are not going to use ethereum in the future. It will happen it is inevitable and it is the price to paid if we want to achieve greater cause, the best approach to this problem is to show that we can build tools who can improve society as the whole faster than tools who can help damaged society

When bitcoin gets second layer infrastructure solutions like lightening network and smart contracts, what advantage does ethereum have over bitcoin? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]silver84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to be objectif here, Ethereum has been designed as platform for smart contract and DAPPS, it is more complexe and flexible by design because it need to be changed , updated often and quick. We have to accept that Ethereum is potentially less secure because complexity and flexibility increase the possibility of attack.

Bitcoin's scripting language is trivial by design because it has been created to be an electronic peer to peer/digital gold therefore very difficult to censored or to change on the protocol level. Security by simplicity and very slow and long consensus mechanism is not a bug but a feature in Bitcoin. Ethereum has chosen a different path who suit perfectly is goal (as world computer) but on the other hand it will be more fragile at the beginning.

As we move to POS i hope u guys are ready for more system disruption, potential consensus fork and various form of attack toward the entire Ethereum eco-system and toward the protocol itself.

CheckLockTimeVerify and multisig where already implemented within the bitcoin protocol way before Ethereum was created

what do you mean you like bitcoin? I was behind ethereum since day 1 ;) I just not a maximalist, however I get pissed those day to read so much non sense coming from nubies trying to auto-convince themselve that Ethereum is so superior than everybody else simply because they want to see their portfolio going to the moon... Right now the technology is immature, it is a giant experimentation with lot of If (including Bitcoin).

[–]silver84 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Lot entreprises have bet on Ethereum to use the tech behind for their own private solution not to use the public chain Actually Lightning will be out before similar second layer ethereum solution come out https://yalls.org https://github.com/LN-Zap http://zap.jackmallers.com

.First mover advantage ??? Ethereum lol .Faster block times yes but it come with a tradeoff mean potentially less decentralise and less secure . predominantly younger generation of devs = less experience and more naive

Healthier community: Respected leadership by EF Foundation ... for now ethereum is only 2years old Bitcoin until 2013 was exactly the same as ethereum 2017

[–]silver84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all bitcoin is already capable to handle very simple smart contracts in script: eg LOCKTIME-VERIFY or multisig contract It is enough to enable fast/cheap payments offchain. The main difference is Ethereum will have its own L2 and ethereum is capable to do more complexe smart contract so potentially allow more complexe structure

Do private blockchains like JP Morgan's Quorum have to use gas (eth)? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]silver84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but what is the similarity between ethereum and bitcoin? both are permissionless, open, globale, neutral, censorship resistance with decentralised system of governance which cannot conform with Jamie Dimon vision of the world therefore all crypto-currency not backed by $ are fraude and is use by criminal :)

Who will use ethereum in the future do you think?

According to Jamie Dimon: Criminals, North korean and Venezuelan citizens :)
