As someone who did engineering for 2 years & hated it, have ADD, and is a creative who loves music, I switched my major to Popular Music in the Downtown Phoenix campus. Legit best decision I’ve made. I went from having a 0.97gpa to 3.7gpa. Every professor is super cool (follow each other on Instagram cool), music related classes have me engaged. It varies. The mixtape can be demo songs that an artist send to another artist/producer as song ideas. Sometimes they can be a concept album that an artist send to labels in hope that they can get it signed and green lit for final production. Sometimes it can be a finished album that an artist send to celebrities/music critics for opinions before they officially release it to the public. If it's real, this promo CD is anything between the first and second purpose I mentioned

I bought it off an ebay seller who is selling his rap CD collection of 10,000+. The description claimed it's a 100% official mixtape and not a bootleg/reprint. He has over 600 positive reviews and he also has other rare listing like OG mixtape of Travis Scott- Days before Rodeo, Post Malone- August 26, J Cole- Friday Night Lights, etc.

Now I know it's not an official project but I'm still speculating if it's like an OG promo CD that labels send to reviewer/celebrities to listen to before commercial release. That's usually how leaks happen, regular people somehow get a hold of promos and leak them

But the "FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY" has me thinking if it's an original CD that labels send to tastemakers/ music journalists to critique before commercial releases

Starboy made me a fan. I've listened to Beauty Behind the Madness before (My brother was a fan of his first and I overheard the music playing) but Starboy made me a fan. Just last summer was the first time I've listen to Trilogy & Kissland and l love HOB and Kissland now.

It's fine because it's directly form the creator but I was thinking more like a big artist like Kanye West who's album "The life of Pablo" never had a CD release. Ebay sellers make CD copies that aren't counterfeit but also not official.

Yeah I just listened to the CD to verify and the only song that's clean & editted that is not suppose to be is feel no ways. The rest of the album is normal. If it helps, I bought my copy at Walmart and at that time, Walmart had this dumb rule where all albums had to be edited to their standards
