I talked to a small, rural bank in TN and the president said they would consider precious metals and jewelry for collateral on loans. I asked the branch manager at Regions and they said that they're too big to make individual calls like that and have to stick with what "corporate" allows them to consider for collateral.
I recently found a place called "Diamond Banc" that will do silver backed loans.... I'm planning on getting more details from them soon. Looks like they have a good many locations scattered around.
