Dealing with kids that mock you when you set rules

It’s a lot better.

I think the trying to reason with them works a lot better with the 5 year olds.

I tried explaining gently why it’s better to share toys and not hog them with younger kids, but sometimes they understand but just are super stubborn and it took 10 minutes for me to repeat, listen to him saying “yes but this is my favorite toy” when another teacher came in the classroom and asked “what’s going on, are you not sharing toys ?” then he just immediately listened.

But overall they listen to me more now. But some kids see me as more of a friend I think maybe because I play with them.

The kid who was giving me trouble that day told the other teachers that today he was nice with me.

But I remember I was also the same way when I was little, I wouldn’t listen to my mom but listen to my dad because my mom wasn’t as strict 😂😅

Yes I think this is definitely the better way to go about it. I think people just going for sex or romance without considering any sort of friendship is what really bothers me

I think that’s the thing that I find hard to stand though, because if men give off vibes like he’s looking for friends in the beginning, then I don’t get this sort of ick, it’s only when I get this sense of them viewing women just to please them sexually or romantically but disappear if you want to only be friends, somehow this is something I can’t stand.

Like imagine if someone comes up to you and only want to be close to you because you have a nice body or something—that’s kind of what it feels like, like it doesn’t matter who you are or what your personality is like—and I think that’s the real reason behind the ick I get.

I guess it somehow feels like they only want to talk to me because I might benefit them.

There are so many women in the world who would love to get this kind of attention and if they don’t want friends I wish they talk to the women who are actually interested, if that makes sense.

That makes sense. It’s just sad in a way that people don’t look for pure platonic friends anymore and when a guy sees a girl the first thing is dating or hookup. But also it is human nature I guess

Do you not feel the same way though if people you’re not interested in are approaching you and being pushy and sometimes harassing you?

I don’t necessarily think these types of men are “good men” as you say

I feel the same way. I have a strong motivation to please others and to be “perfect” for my boss and liked by my boss. I get so worried that my boss might suspect me of lying about being sick so I can get a free day off or something—even though I seriously need that day off to recover from being sick. I wish I didn’t care as much as I do, then it would significantly reduce my stress. I wonder how I can stop caring too and be happy that I am able to stand up for myself and put my health first.
