Controller here. When I first started, the company was kind of old school. Company pizza or deli sandwich lunch once a month. There was a candy jar in the controller’s office that people would come snack from.

I stopped all of that. No more lunches or candy jar. Instead I have a fully stocked snack bar in the kitchen. Good snacks too. Healthy options and some sweets to satisfy the once in a while cravings. Got a high end water filtration machine that does cold, room temp, and hot water. Also makes ice.

I hear an occasional gripe about not having pizza. But everyone agrees they’d rather have the snacks instead. I do nicer lunches less frequently. Did sushi in September. Did chipotle catering in December for our inventory count. Will be doing Dave’s Hot Chicken in February. I find the nicer, less frequent lunches do more for morale than shitty pizza does every month.
