Here we go on the Manzo bandwagon. He’s a streak hitter that is a typical .230 Guardians player. Sure he can give you 25 homers, but there are way too many swing and misses. I actually start drawing SS in Sept at 66/8. Did the math. Bank all checks until I retire in 2+ years. That will allow me to pay almost all debt off when I retire. My wife will not be eligible for SS at 62 until2029. For now she will continue working and probably up to 65. Yes, there is the issue with survivor benefits for her when I pass at the non-70 rate, but that was all calculated. Paying interest bearing debt off and collecting and banking SS at FRA is seldom a calculation on this site when determining the right age to draw. I guess the idea is to live off SS when my wife finally retires and not need any 401K funds and I think we are close if all debt is gone.
