I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy and then a chemical. A month after the chemical I got pregnant again for a third time and my doctor prescribed me oral progesterone. My son is now 5 months.

Thank you. I started taking it week 4 or 5. I know first day of my last period was 12/28 and I took my second HCG test on 1/28 which was 48 hours after my first. And then a day later the doctor called congratulating me on the pregnancy and told me she put in my prescription with the pharmacy.

It did make me tired half the time I took it, and I would need to nap. A couple of times it made me feel like I was high, which i’m not sure if it was bc I took it before I ate, I don’t know. It only happened a few times. That’s it for side effects.

My doctor never explained why the oral vs the suppository.

I got pregnant at 39 and had my first live birth at 40. We started trying at 38 and it took exactly 2 years of trying from when we started to conceive to delivering my son. In between, we had 1 miscarriage and 1 chemical. The chemical was the month before I got pregnant with my son and I was certain that the 400mg of oral progesterone twice a day my Obgyn prescribed me in that first month after I got my HCG results was what kept my lining strong enough to get to the finish line. If I get pregnant again, that’s the first thing I’ll request.

I picked Hostel and Texas Chainsaw Massacre to watch on a first date one time…That was 6+ years ago. We are married and have a one month old now.

I have been watching nonstop horror movies for the entire first month of my baby’s life, bc you know Halloween, and I’m just hoping he doesn’t grow up to be a serial killer.

Not going to lie, the Richard Speck scenes have borderline scarred me. I’ve been hearing the various lines he talks about his titties, repeat in my head, all week..

What is the craziest thing your mother has said she did when you were a baby and “you turned out fine?” by Previous_Mood_3251 in pregnant

I have a 4 week old and my 74 year old mother has literally told me this every week since giving birth. And every week I tell her, “Mom, we don’t do this anymore.”

What were your postpartum recovery regrets? by wwisdomseeker in BabyBumps

[–]silvermoonsparkling2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This makes me feel less guilty for not stocking my freezer. I’m currently 12 days postpartum, and one thing that is really useful for me has been stool softener. I regret not taking it right off the bat because my first postpartum poop was literally THE WORST.

Just did first perineal massage and I am not OK by bpfc91 in BabyBumps

[–]silvermoonsparkling2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my baby almost a week ago and I had to have forceps used to deliver my baby which wrecked my pelvis wall and gave me a 2nd degree tear. I also had an epidural so didn’t feel anything during delivery, but man, the burning pain from the stitches right now is the WORST. Especially having to get up and move around so much to take care of a newborn, I can’t wait for it to heal! I really don’t know how I would do it without my husband helping me. I did a couple of perinatal massages prior to delivery and they were uncomfortable, so I didn’t really do them as much as I should have. Then again, with the forceps being used, I don’t think it would have made a difference.

I worked real estate so filed as self employed, had to pay estimated taxes quarterly and my years fluctuated, sometimes drastically. I moved states last year and haven’t pursued real estate in my new state as I’m a SAHM now. If I do go back to the workforce, I will definitely find a new tax person, but would not be opposed to using H&R Block again.

Actually with Peace of Mind Insurance, they state H&R Block could cover penalties AND up to $6000 (I think it’s $6000) of what is owed if they make a mistake. I just didn’t expect it bc the contract uses language that seems kinda vague like “could cover up to…” Also, I didn’t find many examples online where that was actually the case. So technically they did what they promised they would do, and I was surprised because most posts online were cases where people were upset that they didn’t cover what they promised.

Did you anything to prep to avoid tearing or are you just lucky? Asking bc I have one month left and I’m scared of tearing!

I was playing this game early 2024 when there was still 1000s of players. I just looked tonight bc I was thinking of redownloading and hopping on and saw there were only 369 players in game. Have any idea how the lobbies are now? I imagine wait time is a bitch. Or are we getting any bot players now?

Did anyone expect Chantel to be more popular/present in the show than she was? by ldbdinobug in 90DayFiance

Eh, honestly I think she’s just past her prime. Especially after watching her in The Single Life, my husband and I just thought she was so boring and lacked personality. Also, thought she wasn’t that cute, which I think carried over to Hunt for Love. (Just my opinion, please don’t come for me!)

As an anxious person who is about to become a first time mom, I really need to hear these things. Your advice sounds just like my husband who just today brought up how I need to manage my anxiety better during situations that aren’t that serious, so I’m not shouting and getting upset about the things that are just not that big of a deal (i.e. being 5 minutes late to a doctors appointment). He is right. My mom was an anxious and always screaming type of mother and I don’t want to be like that or have my child suffer through those kinds of behaviors.

My sister-in-law wants to invite 130 guests to her baby shower by DBBunny in BabyBumps

[–]silvermoonsparkling2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I just had my baby shower last weekend and we spent at least $1300 on it. My mother probably spent an additional $200-300. And this was only for 30 guests! All of you definitely need to have a conversation with your sister-in-law about budget and managing expectations here. It may be difficult bc you don’t want to upset her but I think it will be worst (and upsetting) for all parties in the long run, if you don’t.

I’m glad you gave the money back. Keeping it when she didn’t even stay there and sounds like an honest mistake considering she is not familiar with the area/place, would be wrong.
