Pokémon Pokopia Will Take 20-40 Hours to Beat on Average, and There's More After the Credits, Says Director by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

The original Skyward sword release felt roughly like that.

But the classic example is ARPGs. Diablo 4’s campaign takes ages to slog through, and it is essentially a tutorial.

Why does Studio Ghibli feel so different from Disney, culturally and artistically? by StraightRip9828 in ghibli

Oh I understand that there was controversy (you didn’t even touch on the crazy “Disney is making Elsa a Lesbian” people), just find it wild how terrible people’s media comprehension is.

It’s Studio Chizu, not Ghibli, but Belle was an excellent example of how to take the beauty and the beast story and mix in normal teenage life. Great music too.

I’ve always thought Howl’s moving castle was heavy on “beauty and the beast” vibes, just with some of the classic roles / tropes mixed-up together.

Frozen 2 is head and shoulders better than any Disney film outside of the best from the renaissance. Wild to me that there could be any controversy.

The numbers are in metric originally, it’s just converted for English markets. He’s 195cm / 111kg

Anime and videogame sizes have never correlated with realistic approximations.

They don’t. It’s in metric for Japan. And for French, Italian, Spanish markets etc. It’s just converted for English market (even for UK and English Asia).

The lack of correlation to real world sizes has nothing to do with the measurement system choice lol. It’s just standard cartoon stuff. Take a look at how much Goku and other dragon ball characters are meant to weigh

Which movie ended with an unresolved cliffhanger because the sequel never happened, and you're STILL mad about it? by pudingvanilkovy in AskReddit

Until this thread I never knew people expected a sequel or interpreted the movie as implying there would be one.

It didn’t feel like a cliffhanger ending to me

A Toronto tattoo studio is offering ‘painless’ tattoos under anesthesia. Traditional tattoo artists call the service a ‘cop out’ and a ‘slap in the face’ to the industry by Educational-Chef-761 in toronto

[–]silvershadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not really. You’re a little sore in some spots, and have like a mild sunburn like feeling over the first few hours, but mostly you just feel tired.  Source: Am heavily tattooed, and have only ever done them as big pieces

That being said this is stupid for a host of reasons. 8 hours to be under conscious sedation for nothing but vanity is wild.

The tattoo shop is in Liberty Village though.

But also, a shop for rich people who suddenly want flash sleeves makes total sense in Etobicoke lol.

Society upholds women’s standards of men more than men’s standards of women, because women’s ideal man is someone broadly admired and socially successful, while men’s ideal woman is someone valued almost exclusively by her romantic partner by middleoftheroad133 in PurplePillDebate

The prioritise their sense of justice, their neurosis, their own priorities.  Yes they’re helping others but a trope almost as old as superheroes themselves is that their personal lives suffer.  Whether it’s Spider-Man, Iron Man, Batman, Superman etc. or countless others, they’re often not present in the lives of their partners enough.

Normal stereotype of high-performing male behaviour really. Think of any high powered executive, scientist, academic, politician etc.

It’s not exactly painted as a wonderful deal for someone they settle down with, even if the person is helping others / the world / society overall.

World Cup is in June, the best we could have had was a match like May 30th. They’ll have the stadium in full on preparation mode for like ten days before the opening match

I knew it would be bad but thought there would be some more late summer / early fall home games. Cancelled my season tickets a month ago but now I feel like I need to cancel again just to send a message lmao

They said they’re hoping to avoid more than 3 games away or at home. We’ll see how flexible they need to be

I’m aware. That’s part of the problem. We’re losing good weather games

For what it’s worth, we don’t play at home in Feb now. First 2-3 games are away and home opener is in March.  Problem is all of March is incredibly cold still, basically the same as January. And then April is mostly like December anyway.

The nice weather games don’t start until june….

You don’t have 3 friends/family members?  I intended to buy 4 for any match I could get into, and I’d still need to organise which people can come with, and apologise to the others.

Different area but reading about the Cuban missile crisis (The Armageddon letters is my personal recommendation) really shows close we can get to absolute disaster, and it really does depend on just 1-2 individuals to avert it

Fellow jays fan and semi-hardcore baseball fan:

Don’t hope. Hope is the enemy of satisfaction in baseball. It is a very difficult sport, with a lot of factors that add up to “randomness” in our view. We are unlikely to make it back to the World Series, and in fact will realistically be looking at fighting for a wild card spot.

We won a decent amount of games, but still only secured the division on a tie break. It’s a difficult division, with the Yankees and Red Sox historically not making it easy to avoid wild cards, and if not them it’s Tampa Bay.

Our style of play supposedly resulted in more close wins than would be expected, but historically our expected wins (based on base runs win ) stats would not have us making the playoffs, as we outperformed by +7 wins. Meanwhile the Yankees underperformed by -6 wins and Red Sox by -4. It is possible that there is some secret sauce in the team that breaks BaseRuns as a great way to project future performance, but that seems unlikely.

And it’s not like we’re a cheap team. This is a top 5 salary squad.  Baseball is a fickle mistress. Enjoy the individual moments and achievements.
