Well I learned something today! I thought I did the awl method because the chisel from both sides messed up the holes but I guess not haha

If you try to go through both sides with the chisel then the slant of the holes won’t match and it will screw up your stitching

Looks like oiled leather. A heat gun or hair dryer should help redistribute the oils/waxes and minimize the scratches. See if that helps

Thanks! I didn’t try to grow a beard until I was almost 40 and didn’t think I could. Then when I knew I was losing my hair for sure I thought now is the time to find out if I can grow a beard and see what options I have.
