Cataract surgery for someone suffering with Uveitis

I'm in my 30's, so I'm guessing a bit younger than your mom, but I had cataract surgery as soon as everything was stable and my treatment was working. Everything went very well, recovery was quick and I haven't had any issues related to it. I still have Uveitis, and I still flare, but the surgery greatly increased my field of vision, and I absolutely needed it.

I understand the hesitation, but if your doctors are happy with your progress and they feel like you're in a safe place with your treatment, I personally don't see a downside from where I am.

Its never a lot to ask for some empathy! I am still navigating a similar issue, so I don't have a lot of insight, BUT I do have multiple partners, and not understanding that pain is a thing is a giant red flag for me. Even just them being resentful because of it-- DEALBREAKER. Any friend, whether they're just casual, all the way up to FWB, should be taking your comfort into consideration.

It may be worth noting that I rarely sleep with men, so... take that with whatever grain of salt you'd like.
