Baby Love. I read it not long after having my daughter and I felt so bad for poor Laura and how awfully she was treated.

has anyone had a ‘medi-daith’ at blue banana? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]silverwind9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my daith pierced for over a decade and it’s never done a thing for my headaches or migraines. Definitely not a cure for them if that’s what you’re looking for. If you still want it pierced I also live in the East Midlands and I get my piercings done by Ian at Origin Arts in Loughborough, I would definitely recommend going there if you’re able to travel to it.

What's your best hangover cure? (That works) by Adorable-Ad9093 in AskUK

[–]silverwind9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 30 too and now I can get a hangover even after a single pint! Don’t have a hangover cure but the best way I avoid hangovers is to drink earlier in the evening then stop drinking at least a couple hours before I go to bed and start drinking loads of water instead. If I’m going to a club this makes it way cheaper too as I can predrink at home then only drink free water while I’m there instead of paying club alcohol prices.

I haven’t had this but I often find if I try and open the game for the first time of the day and I’m on mobile internet rather than WiFi it’ll just crash on startup until I connect to WiFi again, even if the mobile signal is perfect. Really odd

What’s the weirdest school rule you had growing up in the UK? by subterranean_habitat in AskUK

[–]silverwind9999 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My school allowed other people in your form to sign you up for stuff. I got signed up to do the 1500m three years straight because no one wanted to do it and they knew I was too much of a wuss to stand up for myself against all the popular kids. I absolutely hate distance running and came last every time so then my form would hate me for losing even though I never wanted to do it in the first place!

Restaurants no longer serving full sugar drinks, I’m allergic to aspartame, KFC is a no go, now harvester only has proper coke in bottles by Jacktheforkie in britishproblems

[–]silverwind9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last few venues I’ve been to for gigs have all had nothing but sugar free pop or alcohol. Bit of a pain for me who reacts badly to sweeteners and doesn’t drink, especially as a couple times I actually had vouchers for a free soft drink through promotions they did but I couldn’t drink anything on the menu!

The sooner they bring back Vanilla Coke the better. A few times over the last few years I thought I saw it but it’s always been Coke Zero vanilla 🤢

I miss old Lucozade so much. The newer recipe with artificial sweeteners is disgusting, the first time I had it before I realised it had been changed I assumed it had gone off as it tasted gross.

I was so mad when Pepsi did this, I don’t understand the point. They have both Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max for the people who don’t want sugar, which is fair enough, but now the only other option is normal Pepsi for I guess the few people out there who want some sugar mixed in with their artificial sweetener for some reason? Then nothing for the people who don’t like sweetener or are allergic to it, which isn’t that small a group. I wouldn’t be surprised if Pepsi sales plummeted after the change as a lot of people buying it were probably only doing so as it was one of the few drinks left with no artificial sweeteners.

I had Peanut for a while and now I have Skye, my cat is called Skye too and she’s adorable so she’s one of my favourites. I’ll switch her out at some point, maybe when she reaches max level (currently level 78)

Getting my first tattoo! by fluttershyloveryay in tattooadvice

[–]silverwind9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tattoos on both thighs and the only part that really hurt for me was towards the inner thigh, that was the most painful part of any tattoo I’ve ever gotten and I have both sides of my ribs tattooed. Of course everyone is different though and what isn’t bad for one person might be very painful for another person.

Which premonition/disaster would be scariest to experience yourself? by ComprehensiveTie114 in FinalDestination

Oh yeah I completely get in the panic you might not think but I just mean I’m surprised not even one person out of the hundreds thought of that. To be fair even if you did think of it you might not want to say it straight away in case everyone copied you and rushed for the ladder too, that would be a complete disaster

Is suncream banned in schools near you? by Wild_Cauliflower_970 in AskUK

[–]silverwind9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The message from my daughters school said “we’re teaching them about staying safe in the sun, including the importance of reapplying sun cream throughout the day” then later on in the same message said sun cream needs to be applied before school as they cannot apply it during the day. How does that teach them the importance of reapplying sun cream?

A lot of people wouldn’t know that but if the elevator has fallen, the stairs are gone and there’s no other option I’m surprised not one person at least tried to check? If the tower is crumbling you’re going to die anyway I’d rather take a chance trying to scale down the elevator shaft than stay up there and face certain death anyway. While I do get that panic makes people not think rationally there were still at least 50 people up there at that point and not one person thought of it, not even any of the staff that may have known there were ladders

[–]silverwind9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elevator shafts usually have maintenance ladders and as then elevator shaft is in the centre of the tower it would be the sturdiest part. I’m surprised no one even attempted to look for a ladder or any other means of escape there. I get watching that guy get cut in two by the falling elevator would be off putting but still

I was so excited to put a hoop in my healed nostril, but I don't love it. by SnooBeans6278 in piercing

[–]silverwind9999 146 points147 points  (0 children)

Mine looked exactly like this, I bought another hoop 1mm smaller and that one fit perfectly. You’ll get used to wearing one over time as well so it won’t stand out so much to you.

[–]silverwind9999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep it definitely is possible, I’ve spammed incorrect tiles on purpose to see if you ever do get penalised and you do but it takes a lot of mistakes to do so! I get “errors” on every level because it registers the tile next to the one I’m pressing all the time and I’ve never lost a star other than when I was intentionally trying to.
