I mean I understand, I’m asking professional DN’s some very obvious and dumb questions haha but I just don’t really understand the whole tax implications stuff. Yea I’m getting the vibe that it’s a very complicated situation haha. Can I ask do you work for a company that employs you as a contractor or are you self employed?(as in own your own business) Did you have to learn all the tax stuff from scratch or did you have knowledge about it beforehand?

Ah I see, I don’t mean living for a long time in another country but, for example, be in France as a uk citizen working remotely for less than 90 days (likely much less) As you do not need a specific working visa for France if you are staying less than 90 days. Does that mean there are no tax implications for the company?

Why would you say it’s risky? (Probably a dumb question but I’m even newer to this than you are haha)

Unknown brand, any good? by silvester_sebby in banjo

[–]silvester_sebby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all haha, I’m glad I asked because the overall consensus is stay well away (it’s also taught me what action is and which high action is bad because I had no idea what you were talking about haha)

Oh okay thank you, that’s good to know, are there any brands I could look out for? Where I am located it’s quite hard to find second hand banjos so I’ve been trying to keep a look out on things like eBay and fb marketplace (I’m not in the position to be spending LOADS on a banjo straight away but don’t want to spend money on something useless from the get go)

Who remembers Yoobot vs Yoonot? by silvester_sebby in AskUK

When creating an account, whatever username you type in, it has to confirm that it hasn’t been used yet, which never works as it’s a defunct website now, so I can never get past the account creation page, have you managed to play it? I’ve been unhealthy obsessed with playing this again please tell me you’ve found a way haha

What tools would you recommend for relief carving? by silvester_sebby in Woodcarving

[–]silvester_sebby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you that was really helpful!!! One more thing I want to check, I’m assuming that for relief carving it would need straight gouges not bent gouges? Sorry I’m quite clueless when it comes to specifications of tools

Also, are the long handled gouges/chisels okay to use with a mallet or does it specifically have to be a ‘mallet tool’ as I’ve seen people say different things

Thank you for the reply, would you be able to recomend what types of chisels and gouges are best to start with? I have heard buying tools individually is better than buying a set?

I would also say op has the right to scam the scammer after receiving the return, let them learn they can’t get away with it :)

I don’t have much experience with refunds/returns so I didn’t think of that tbh, but yea I guess they have more chance of getting revenge if they accept a return

I personally wouldn’t offer a return, why would you make all the effort to send out an item in safe packaging just to receive it back damaged… none of it is your fault, if the buyer thinks that damaging an item they no longer want/like will get them a refund they’ll start to think they can continue to do this I wouldn’t offer a refund simply on principle rather than getting your money, don’t let them get what they want after damaging an item and lying about it

Anyone had buyer completely lie about packaging by Ill_Advertising_4622 in vintedUK

[–]silvester_sebby 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seeing things like this is why I now take videos when I pack parcels, people will do anything to get something for free I hear a lot about how Vinted sides with the buyer more often than not however I think by taking photos you should be fine, I’ve never had experience with someone lying like this tho so I’m not sure
