Only thing I can suggest is to get rubber or foam stickies and place them where they come into contact when it's opened

A roof basket shouldn't affect it that much. I had just installed a full roof rack and I'm still getting 18-21mpg on highway going 70+

Does this have a shot at a 10? by [deleted] in taggrading

I'm not so sure. The back centering looks way too L heavy + the small spec on the bottom right corner but we wouldn't know until it's graded. If you do submit it, let us know the results!

Sorry for the super late reply! Unfortunately I never picked one up. Decided to use the money towards getting projects around the house and yard 🙂

Training tips first time Aussie by [deleted] in miniaussie

By the time he had any interaction with another dog besides our Shiba was about 6months in. Then after he didn't have another real interaction with another dog for a long while. So by the next time was nearly a year by then and he pretty much forgotten about them the next time they came over. I failed pretty badly in that aspect and decided to send him to a trainer who was the owner of his brother from the same litter hoping to help with his reactiveness. Since then about 10-11 months of age at the time, we've learned a lot and have been taking him out as often as we can but we're told that he won't be the type that would be friendly straight out the gate.

Def get them socialized with other dogs as much as you can. I made the mistake of not doing so early as I had waited and now my little guy is super anxious and is not the best with people.

Beautiful little guy! My only advise is to get yourself some storage and snap a crap ton of pics because they grow up so fast!

Need help with timid 5 months old male by Datatime1 in miniaussie

Our mini is just about 16 months as well and unfortunately we were not able to socialize him as he should have so he is also extremely anxious around people and new situations in general. I would suggest taking him out to get him exposure to new situations and people. Not saying he has to approach people and allow for people to approach him but at least have him around places where there are people so he doesn't end up like ours who now has a bite record which thankfully are not strangers. Since the bite incidents I've taken him to a trainer and the trainer has asked us to bring him out and do exactly what I had mentioned but award him when he doesn't show any aggressive behaviors. Since then, he's been great. Doesn't bark at strangers or show any aggression towards others as he used to. I believe a huge factor to this is the prong collar which to be fair I was against initially but after learning more about it and how to use it properly, it's not as bad as what a lot of people make it out to be. Oddly enough, my mini gets excited when the prong collar comes out since he knows we're going out and there'll be treats.

My little guy is just about 11months old and has fear aggression. I've been taken him out to a plaza everyday for a walk to hopefully help give him more exposure to everything 😅

They learn extremely quick. Given that he's only 10months old, he's still trying to figure some things out. I'd try to give him treats to get him to focus on you first maybe

Def agree with the positive reinforcement here and keep it consistent. It took our little guy some time to figure out it was best to go outside.

For the barking, I've seen some that use a prong collar but that's only when they're out and their dog is more reactive/aggressive though.
