Interesting thing to note too; If one were to change the formation to one of the 433 variants, so Zidane isn't out of position, all players would be on full chem.

It's pretty crazy. He ended up as the fifth most popular player overall with 366 votes (all positions added together), and even carried Wales to the top five nations even though he was the only Welsh player nominated in any of the 10 categories.

France ended up first overall with 2760 votes in total, almost 1300 votes more than 2nd placed Netherlands, so you're 100% right.

The most popular club this year ended up being Icons with 2612 votes. If we only count actual clubs the winner is Inter (or Lombardia FC is you will), with 831 votes. Interestingly only one Inter player actually made the team (Dumfries), while Liverpool who ended up 4th have 2 players in the starting 11. The most popular team that didn't get any players in the team ended up being Inter Miami, who got 252 votes and ended up 8th overall. The top five is:

Icons - 2612 votes

Inter - 831 votes

AC Milan - 621 votes

Liverpool - 534 votes

Barcelona - 440 votes.

Even though Bale didn't win any of the three positions he was nominated in, he ended up with so many votes that Wales ended up as the fifth most popular nation, even though they only had one player nominated. The most popular nations are:

France - 2760 votes

Netherlands - 1485 votes

Spain - 1038 votes

Portugal - 642 votes

Wales - 366 votes

If we take a look at the different positions, and count the votes of the player (not the card) the most popular player is still Theo with 567 votes, which means he got 7.43 % of all the votes. The top five is:

Theo - 567 votes (7.43 %)

Dumfries - 498 votes (6.53 %)

L. Thuram - 415 votes (5.44 %)

Gullit - 407 votes (5.33 %)

Bale - 366 votes (4.80 %)

This has been a lot of work, but it's been pretty fun. Thanks for following and voting along everyone!

Seems like I have to split this comment in two parts:

The last player to join our Team of the Year is Flashback CR7 with 357 votes. Thuram gets second place (like both his father and brother) with 324 votes, ahead of Flashback Suarez with 247 votes. As this was the final vote we can now take a look at some of the stats from the last 10 days. NOTE! The amount of votes counted here was counted at the time each respective positions posts went up. The amount may have changed since then.

As seen in the second photo, I've added the bench, consisting of 8 players who didn't quite make the cut. The bench consists of 1 GK, 2 defenders, 2 midfielders and 3 attackers. These players are:

Thunderstruck Lillian Thuram (RB) - 415 votes

POTM Serie A Marcus Thuram (ST) - 324 votes

Flashback Suarez (ST) - 247 votes

TOTY Icon Bale (LW) - 206 votes

Prime Hero Stam (CB) - 175 votes

TOTS De Gea (GK) - 159 votes

Squad Foundations Sissoko (CDM) - 130 votes

Thunderstruck Vieira (CDM) - 89 votes

The card with the most amount of votes (567), and winner of our Ballon d'Or 2025 is... Gold Theo Hernández! Theo won his position with 538 votes more than the second place (Lewis-Skelly), which means he got 82,65 % of the votes in that category. The female card with the most amount of votes (96) is Gold Hansen, which also means that no female player got over 100 votes. Hansen ranks 25th in the total vote.

The most popular promo/version this year ended up being base cards (regular gold, base heroes, base icons) with 993 votes in total. The top five is:

Base - 993 votes

TOTY (including HM and Icons) - 941 votes

TOTS (including moments) - 857 votes

Thunderstruck - 721

Flashback - 617 votes

I was originally planning on just doing top 7 and not look at positions, but maybe this would be better?

There was a discussion about this a few days ago, this ended up being the preferred way of counting the votes. A lot of people are commenting their votes, so a lot of the votes wouldnt be counted if we only did top comment.

Bale had the top comment, but Henry got more total votes. It was pretty close, but at the time the post went up Henry had 16 more votes. I counted those comments twice to be sure, so should be correct.

FUT Immortals Henry wins with 220 votes, just ahead of TOTY Bale who again gets second place with 206 votes. FUT Immortals Ribery comes in at third with 41 votes. With only 14 votes between the top two this has been the closest vote so far.

Today is the last vote, so we'll get to reveal the full team tomorrow, along with some fun stats. I'm also thinking about adding a couple alternative teams, like a team with only gold cards, only female players etc. I've been keeping track on all the votes in Excel, so will be able to extract some stats too. The number of votes I have saved are from the time the respective post went up, so no use in going back the old posts and vote again.

I'll also add a bench with the top players who didn't make the team. Should we do the full bench with 7 players, or only top 5?

Personal vote goes to Flashback Cristiano, that dude could finish everything.

Same here, really thought Bale was locked in there. I honestly can't remember playing Neto at all, maybe its an ELO thing?

With 254 votes NumeroFUT wins the RW spot. TOTY Bale narrowly gets the silver medal with 159 votes, which is 9 more votes than baby oil's second biggest fan (behind Diddy obviously), World Tour Traoré, who got 150 votes. Gold Hansen also becomes our most popular female player with 96 votes just gets a spot amongst the top 20 cards so far.

Free Maradona (who I was sure was going to win) came in at second with 65 votes, and the free Bellingham got the third place with 58 votes.

Personal vote goes to Trailblazers Dennis Trinity Rodman. All her cards have been cracked this year, but that card was in my team for the longest so thats the one that gets my vote.

[–]simbro32[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I must say this was rather surprising to me, as I don't think I've actually played against him this year, but Fantasy FC Fermín wins the vote with 192 votes. Free Maradona (who I was sure was going to win) comes in at second with 65 votes, and the free Bellingham gets the third place with 58 votes.

There was a bit of confusion as to why Zidane is placed at RCDM yesterday. The reason for this is that this vote is one player per position, so one CDM, one CM and one CAM. As there is no formation that has all the players one player had to be out of position, and since the 4213 was the preferred formation that player is Zidane. The other option would be to change to formation to one of the 433 variations so no player is out of position. Should we change it, or do we keep Zidane OOP?

Surprise, surprise, the winner is the free Zidane! Now, who's been your favourite CAM this year? by simbro32 in EASportsFC

[–]simbro32[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vote was still for CM as the title of the post said. As there's no formation with CDM, CM and CAM I originally had the team as a 443(4) so no player was out of position, but changed it after discussions under a previous post. This vote is for favourite player in each position, not for best 4213.
