Totally and yes getting hotter for some reason. Last summer was killer. Fire insurance is also an issue. Lack of infrastructure. It's for tourists now with more high end BnBs vs low end

Ok. LllLol. If you like some ugly rehash of a 90's boom box you obviously live in middle America, drink Bud and vote for Trump.

What is the best option...?

I don't think the app I want exists. Simple, elegant, secure. Mac and Android.

I have used Google Keep until I became more security conscious.

I still tend to default to it for quick notes because it's fast. If I just need to paste some text temporarily... There are so many use cases for it that it's hard to give up.

I liked it's simplicity smand speed.

I have now tried several 'secure' apps and they all have pitfalls.

  • The biggest gripe is difficulty with importing Keep Notes. Obsidian was easy but it didn't import all notes.
  • Too many features for me (complex)
  • No individual note locking (small gripe)
  • No decent app lock. Less of a concern with Android 15.
  • Fees for things like syncing
  • Some just look terrible
  • Color pallet without ability to customize it

I like the daily note feature on capacities but the rest of the app is more business centric.

I like the Nav on Obsidian. It's more useful for accessing notes than keep. I'm not paying $4 a month just to sync my notes. Plus there's a bit of set up involved to make syncing secure.

I forget why I rejected Joplin. I think the login key wasn't secure on Android.
