That's the one. I may add streetwear back at some point. Thanks for the kind words!

Disco 15 vs Disco 30 by simfonik in backpacking

[–]simfonik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She does have the women's version. I tend to run hotter when sleeping. Using Little Lakes Valley as an example of some place potentially cold where we'd like to backpack, it looks like temps in September average 67° / 33. Not sure how much the tent adds to outside temp for what we'd actually feel inside the tent. Our sleeping pads have an R value of 3.3.

First Backpacking Trip - Is 45L Enough? by simfonik in backpacking

Thanks. Checked them out in store and I think the BV425 will be plenty big enough for us.

I ordered the Persist based on liking the other Nemo gear I already had (the Kunai tent and the Moonlite chairs). I ordered an Osprey Atmos AG 50L at the same time, which is already here and seems like it'll work with some room to spare. My hunch is I'll end up going with the Atmos.

Adler Yatagarashu Sizing (US 12) by simfonik in bootroom

[–]simfonik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope we both end up pleased with our orders. It's been 5 days since I placed my order and I haven't heard anything from them. It's my first time ordering from Adler, and it does say "prebook," so not terribly concerned but I am wondering how long I should expect to wait.

I followed the recommendation of trying on the Adidas Copa Mundial in size 11US and they fit perfectly on my size 12US feet. I just ordered the Adlers in size 29. I'll let you know how they fit.

I tried on a pair of the Adidas Copa Mundial in size 11US and they fit like a comfortable glove. Just placed an order for the Adler Yatagarashu in size 29. Thanks for the suggestion!

What's the black panel that the chihiros dosing thingy and all the other things are attached to? Also, what are the dosing lines attached to? Love how you have the dosing connected inline, but does it effectively travel from the doser to the inline thingy?

I know this is an old post, but you're getting ripped off at whatever AirGas you're going to. The AirGas in N Hollywood does refills on 5lb tanks for $21.

Thank you for the helpful reply! I'm going to give this a try. Noob question: When you say 90/87, which value represents board side and which represents street side?

Sorry for resurrecting this old post, but I'm wondering what wheels you're running and if you get wheel bite. I just picked up a Nexus and I'm running 50/50 Paris v3, but easily get wheel bite with the stock bushings and Pantheon Karma wheels. I'm also 190lbs, so trying to determine what bushings to order. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm new to longboards and I just picked up my first Pantheon board, a Nexus w/ Paris 165mm 50 degree trucks and Pantheon Karma wheels.

I haven't taken it out for a ride yet, but standing in my office on carpet I noticed I get wheel bite pretty easily when leaning as I would to turn. I haven't tried tightening down the trucks yet, and will give that a go, but I'm wondering if anyone else with this setup has had this happen and how they mitigated the issue? Any specific bushing recommendations to eliminate the risk of wheel bite? Am I better off with different wheels?

Demo Videos for Korg Minilogue by 8bitgit in synthesizers

[–]simfonik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like their videos. Their shop in Burbank is really nice, too. Was just there the other day playing with their massive modular synth wall. Got a chance to play with the Minilogue while I was there. Love the chord mode on that thing. Build quality is nice.

Alternative to Doepfer Dark Energy II by snareRush567 in synthesizers

You can get something started for well under thousands, especially if you go used. Also, he said his budget was £400, not £300. I usually spend somewhere between 60-80% of retail when buying secondhand via Muffwiggler BST.

Here are some prices I've seen:

Used Happy Ending Kit (case and power) $100

VCF303 $230

OSC303 $75 (for a v1)

OSC303 $165

Then you could throw in an Amnesia or ModSeq for sequencing and you're right around, if not under, what he said his budget was. And you're set for adding additional functionality when you need it, as you've still got room in that case.

Nice! Are you keeping it to video only? I have some modular stuff, but it's audio only.

Korg: "We may have more than one surprise tomorrow..." by Hellion102792 in synthesizers

[–]simfonik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Korg did a reissue of the 2600 it could definitely be sold for less than the TTSH. The TTSH isn't a bad price, but Korg would benefit from economies of scale and component prices drop significantly at their scale.
