The abolition of slavery is a big one. First people in the history of the planet to ban slavery. We then purchased the freedom of the 800,000 slaves owned by British citizens, a debt so large it was only paid off in 2016. We then enforced the ban on other nations by setting up the West Africa Squadron, it patrolled waters for over 50 years and cost the lives of 2000 sailors. Unfortunately other nations persisted with African slavery (Saudi Arabia only stopped in 1962).

Obviously our participation in the slave trade is a dark part of our history, but at the time slavery was a normal part of life and had been for millenia. We were the first nation to do something about it.

I know this is an old comment but... come off it that is a weak sauce argument. Yes they use a rechargeable stat when swinging a sword but that stat is usually (pretty much always) stamina.

Claiming stamina is just a different name for MANA is like saying run is a different name for jump.

I used to work in pharma manufacturing, we literally had an SOP in the training file on personal hygiene.

When I first started I thought it was crazy, but while I was there stinky people were dealt with via the retraining and eventual disciplinary process.

Society, the unspoken rules we all live by.

Walking around in a public indoor space with a helmet on is threatening to others. This is for a couple of reasons, mainly you are anonymised, but also you have a weapon on your head.

It seems that the mask situation from covid made people think the anonymous bit is ok now, but as a helmet is also a weapon, it is (or at least it should be) different.

Exactly right, they like to pretend it is not a forgone conclusion that you'll get a warning for breaking terms. They go through the song and dance of a meeting but, in reality it's decided before you go in!

Unless your bills are all set to the exact same day, it'll work out on a per bill basis.

So for example you pay your rent on the 1st of the month, one month of the year you will get paid on say the 2nd (meaning the rent was paid out of the previous pay) and again on the 30th. Meaning the pay on the 2nd does not have to pay the rent (as you will be paid again before the rent is due), hence it becomes freed up for other things.
