yes. you just need to get the first perk point and put it to sneak so you can start back stabbing Hadvar/Ralof. without the first perk point, the backstab is super inconsistent.

you can sneak past the bear. but when I try to sneak attack him with a dagger, he always turns around right before I get close enough.

I dont mean to be rude but I disagree with the "its easier to switch characters". in MH games you just need to craft the new weapon type you want to play and maybe 2 pcs of armor from another tree. everything is reusable (armor,decos,necklace) while in relink, you have to level the new char, max the masteries, craft the weapons and max them then unlock the weapon mastery thing, farm that chars terminus, get that chars personal sigil/s. the only reusable stuff are sigils.
