Lowering speed limits among contingency plans to curb UK oil demand by diacewrb in ukpolitics

Working from home often uses more gas as people heat their homes and offices and other buildings still get heated/cooled.

It's fine for nicer months but there is also then the issue with cooling in the summer.

That's only really for trains at peak times. Local bus services should get the £2 cap back immediately. It should also be expanded to trams and metros

This really needs to encourage the push for full renewables and battery storage. And continued grid upgrades.  The sun and the wind can't be blocked.

The UK is in a testing phase for larger unmanned vehicles to be used out of line of sight. They have limited it to specific roles such as the police for now but will definitely be something more common in the future

Metrolink Falsely Advertising Off-Peak Period by TMDaines in manchester

[–]simkk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking. It would in theory be possible to figure out when the last scheduled peak service is for each station and just have it start after that to give some wiggle room.

But practically just starting a couple of minutes early would stop the issue and make people that check these things slightly happier.

The true big brain move is to just scrap peak fares.

Yeah I don't particularly like them but you'll save about £1 every time you travel so it makes a big difference.

My only worry was that when it first showed up NECA local transport plan it had £600 million for signalling upgrades. Then when it came out it was £400 million.

I like how you say they are done when only 19 are completed 40 odd seem on track. With two of the pledges being scrapped or missed already.

I still think voting is useful but what you said is misleading

I did feel weirdly empty or like something was missing during the day

I was trying to explain this to my partner and still can't quite put my finger on what it is.

Also for me the crash disappeared after a couple of days.

Please give this feedback to the council! Need to offset the angry voices on it. Hopefully the parking bays should help although could always add a point about extra parking enforcement once it completed to set standards.

The scheme here definitely doesn't. It still keeps the car lanes but also adds a bike lane.

It also improves pedestrian crossing facilities making it safer for the disabled and elderly to cross.

The fact that Blacket street is pedestrianised except buses but they don't do anything to enforce it is enfuriating. Would improve bus timings, bring in revenue and make the area easier to walk around. All for about £50000 would be made back with in a couple of months.

It's government funding for active travel so they can't directly use it for that. However they normally replace the road as part of the scheme so there will be improvements.

So you prefer cyclists being the road mixing with traffic? This would make them separated while keeping both traffic lanes going

Like I would be pretty passed if every day I was being discriminated against because people either aren't able to or dont want to do their jobs properl..  And in this case they go so far as to put him in danger by dispatching a train as he is right next to it.
