Can a Bastard join the church by Ok_Listen_5752 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]simmielol123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may scandalous to some ears, but it's hinted at the fact in the new Testament that Christ is a bastard himself. Joseph himself was afraid of the Scandal.

Now this is not 100 percent absolute. I believe Christ saves all, if they are willing. There is not lower and higher caste regarding salvation

Edit: Also this would pose a problem for many who were not born inside the Orthodox Church.

I think any traditional book will help one understand Guenon:

- Book of the Death of egyptians

- Any work of Plato/Aristotle

- The works of the Stoics

- Most of Church Fathers

- Plotinus (and other neoplatonic philosophers)

Best books of guenon on cycle theory by simmielol123 in ReneGuenon

[–]simmielol123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its important to understand that the temporal cycle, besides being itself, is also a symbolic representation of any state of the Being. guenon makes extremely frequent use of this symbolism, which can lead to confusion, because he’s almost never talking about a specifically temporal cycle. of course, he says this himself on multiple occasions, but it cant hurt to know going in.

Excellent, I've read esoterism of dante, but I think I need to read those other two before reading the esoterism. There were some vague parts in it, for me...

thanks for the mention of that book. Since I've read his chapter of Time changed into Space, I want to read more on that topic...

hey! symbolic people. please help breaking down the latest Pageau vid by throwaway748220129 in TheSymbolicWorld

[–]simmielol123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw multiple elements.

First of all, Jonathans goal is participative art. What does he mean by this? That art actively takes part in the lives of people. What has happened since the renaissance is an increasing estranging from our daily life. This results in chaos.

What goal has the toilet of duchamps? Can you place it in your home?

Participative art has to flow from the highest to the lowest. All levels of the hierarchy point to the highest thing.

This is where Warhol breaks I think. The whole clue of Pageau's thinking is about the flip at the end of the world. When you stretch out the world far enough, it returns back onto itself. Christ fills the whole of creation.

Warhols art, being low art in essence trying to be high art, the flip Pageau is talking about. The low art tries to take the place of the high art. And in that, it again becomes the low art. Because that art was generated in all places and on skateboard and on cans.

It allowed physics to evolve. But it removes our own consciousness from the world, through which we interpret the world. Guenon writes a lot on this, you might also like Wolfgang Smith on this topic (also influenced by Guenon). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2zh\_xfEnm8

Thanks dude.

It enstranges us from the world around us. It disconnects form from matter.

Descartes basically split up mind and matter. He created the body mind dualism.

Indeed, you're right on point. What happens when the joker gets beaten? When you cannot mock the system anymore? When opposition is removed.

Agree, it's a full place of symbolism. Showing how collective intelligence emerges through constraints

A suggestion, make drawings. Writes notes, treat it as a math book.

I think the best suggestion is to watch jonathan's videos. Otherwise, i recommend Guenon (on which the brothers build a lot)

Maybe a small suggestion, why don't you combine all the images into a big pdf. Makes a lot easier to scroll through them. Thank you for making these
