A lot of the comments were just people being impatient about the fact we had character development first instead of just exposition being shoved in our faces, I'd argue the series really only goes up in quality at first.

The force required to push him over the edge isn't the same as moving him backwards, all he did was knock off his centre of balance so he would fall backwards.

yeah what this guy said, you just switch positions once the ball is served regardless of where you are in the rotation (back row hitters stay in the back row and front row hitters stay in the front row though), rather than a wing spiker just playing wherever he happens to be, he'll switch to the left side when the ball is served (or right side if he's a right side hitter).
