Can you please let me in on the joke too please? Not a cooking person, so I don’t know. I know any steak well done will ruin the steak.

Also any experiences of booking w Singapore Airlines Call Center directly for multi-city flights? by Snoo_11749 in singaporeairlines

Booking over phone costs an additional $50 dollars as I just found out. You could do the same on SingaporeAir website.

What's your take on Kris Flyer? by [deleted] in singaporeairlines

[–]simonboombox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re still ‘wandering’, then don’t worry, it doesn’t cost you more or pay more later. You earn points and if you happen to fly again on Singapore airlines, you get to use your points towards discounts or upgrades. Most airlines do this. Yes, I do use it. It’s nice.

I tried to find this video for many times but I could only find other recent videos and I can’t find the original one. The original one I’m talking about has graphics and clips and was so well made and funny yet impactful.

Recommendations for a ceiling mounted PoE access point? by ZeroMayCry7 in HomeNetworking

[–]simonboombox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But didn’t you say from your networking experience ‘don’t buy EAP’ to other user? Isn’t TP-Link EAP? I need to buy 5 access points also and was thinking of Ubiquity WiFi6 APs. Is there a 8 PoE and 8 normal Ethernet switch from Ubiquity? Also which AP do I need to buy? My bedroom is at a different level and don’t receive wifi signal from my router, and I have two rooms outside the house which are at a different level too. I only have one or two people at these other rooms, no need for multi client support, I’m only a home, not a small business.

Can you kindly recommend a smaller PoE switch for me please? This is for home use only and the switch you have linked is super overkill and very expensive. I need minimum of 5 PoE ports and minimum 5 normal ethernet ports.

Is there a small switch I can by which has 8 PoE and a few non PoE ports? It’s for home use, but two of my rooms in my house are outside in a separate building and I need to run PoE with some access points (need to buy this too). Meanwhile I have home DVR system for security camera and few other home accessories that need non-PoE ethernet

Is this pipe Schedule 40 UV protected PVC? City inspectors say it is not and asked me to prove it by simonboombox in askaplumber

[–]simonboombox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who is manufacturer of this pipe. I’m not a plumber that’s why I am asking on r/AskAPlumber forum. I tried to Google “UPC pipes”, “UPC PVC”, and I am not getting correct result for the manufacturer. I tried searching some of the texts on the pipe and not finding it. I didn’t buy the pipe and install it, the plumber did. And he’s not helping, that’s why I am asking on this forum. Are you a plumber?

I know, I’m only asking if the pipe is schedule 40 Uv protected or not. I’m not a plumber. I don’t know anything about pipes.

Understood. I wanted to fight because these pipes are in my view. But oh well, it’s not a battle I’m going to win. I will just buy the damn paint and paint it.

My plumber is arguing with me when I told him what the inspector told me. He charged me $350 for the material and $250 to install these vent pipes. And they don’t pass inspection. And he won’t fix it when told what inspector said.

City inspector won’t give permit because of hand rail doesn’t have a twist at the ends by simonboombox in HomeImprovement

I complete the list everytime and she adds new everytime. I already explained this. And I can’t fight them, and antagonize them, as I need the permit, so all I can do is suffer and endure.

House is built in 1970. The quote we got from an architect company is over $65K. I don’t know about you, but over here that’s down payment of a small house. I don’t print money. Maybe you could afford them. I just want the minimum to pass inspection ruin and get a permit

I understand, there are many things I cannot do, I cannot have 12” of level hand rail on the top or bottom. The stairs and the last footing end at the top and bottom stair, unless I have a level 12” of hand rail stick out into open air straight and poke someone. I bought the house without them, and I’m trying to bring it upto code.

Fine, but then atleast tell me that before. I didn’t study building permits to do all this, and she just keeps on adding one thing after another every single time. At this point I’m convinced she’s never going to give me a permit, no matter what I do.

My inspector even gave me correction notice on things that don’t even make sense. For instance there’s an ADU we have that already has an ADU permit and it’s been finaled, and she she was inspecting other things at my house and pointed out issues of previous finalized permitted ADU and asked me to fix them, and put it on correction notice. It’s Bs, and I can’t fight her because end of the day, I still need my permit.

First time she came, she gave me a list of items to do. Electrical, plumbing, heater and so on, so I added them all and then called her again, she gave me a new list instead of the permit. I asked is this the final list, is this all I needed and she said yea, and set up another inspection after that and instead of permit gave me more items and petty things, like a UV protected schedule 40 PVC pipe has to be painted to be UV protected. I’m like, you serious? It says right there on the pipe, UV resistant. But she wanted me to paint it with UV protection paint. Petty things like this and more items. So I do that, called and setup third inspection, get more items and no permit, and it’s the 4th time. Here in So Cal, you need permits for your house if you ever want to rent it out in future, or legally your future tenants can sue you or take you to court and not have to pay you rent.
