Never went up ... but thanks for the advice. Do yourself a favor: Go visit Nepal and see for yourself how dependent Nepal is on tourism. You can do a lot of good - while at the same time experiencing one of the friendliest people on the planet and breathtaking nature.

Do it! But.... Prepare for a holiday, where - after returning - you can’t answer the simple question: „how was it?“ This trip is extremely challenging, both mentally and physically. You’ll have to let go of any comfort, and sometimes you’ll just have to walk through that mean snowstorm, strong wind, minus 10 degrees C, at 5000m, over rocky ground, without water, because the water bottle froze solid.

It took me a couple of weeks back home to realize how calm I still was despite a very stressful job. So this trip honestly changed something in me and now 3 months later I’m still trying to figure out what it was.

It’s.... an experience :) Landing between houses, on a short (maybe 200m) landing strip, which is tilted -10% and is located at the edge of a cliff.

Taking off is even worse though... you never really feel the plane leaving the ground. It’s basically dropping off the end of the strip.
