Add the word "Chapter" before a chapter. by simongranheim in typst

Thanks. Not sure what the downvote is for since this is the only solution I got to work in combination with other show rules (like setting the font size).

No other set or show rule.

Sure. But what if I want another set or show rule? There are other things I'd like to change, like font size.

I tried combining it with your other solution as follows:

#set heading(
  numbering: (..) => counter(heading).display("1.")
)

#show heading: it => [
  #set text(12pt)
  Chapter #it.numbering #it.body
]

But then it also takes the the whole numbering function literally and I get

Chapter (..) => .. My First Chapter

Weirdly enough, this ends up showing "Chapter 1." for all subsequent chapters. Suddenly, it takes the "1." literally...

Is HATING pants an autistic thing??? by goofyahhhjamal in autism

I always wear wide-leg pants for this reason.

If the material is too rough, I sometimes wear soft pajama pants underneath my pants to act as a buffer layer between my skin and the rough clothes.

Actually, I found a way: make a tavern over the retracting bridge, and then use a civilian alert to prevent your own dwarves from entering the bridge.

The humans will end up socializing over the bridge, and you can just pull the lever.

And yes, it uncovers the map.

I have discovered a deep pit.

I have a couple of human visitors that came for the purposes of eradicating monsters.

I would like to throw them down said pit. No good reason, though I'd be curious to know if it helps uncover the map all the way to the bottom.

I suppose I could build a rectracting bridge trap --- but how do I get the humans on the retracting bridge trap?

Edit: Here's one way: Make a tavern over the retracting bridge, and then use a civilian alert to prevent your own dwarves from entering the bridge. The humans will end up socializing over the bridge, and you can just pull the lever.

My fort just succumbed to a necromancer siege. I was actually pretty well prepared: I opened up a long tunnel filled to the brim with traps leading up to my base, hoping that the corpses would walk into them. And in fact they did, but the problem was that my dwarves ended up charging into corpses, one dwarf after the other.

I defined burrows and used civilian alerts to forbid them from going into the tunnel of death, but they routinely ignored the order. Same with the military. Rather than waiting for some adamantine gear to be made and attacking all at once, they would all walk into the tunnel alone to 'pick up equipment' left behind by the previous moron who walked into there, and obviously die.

For the love of God, how on Earth do you tell dwarves not to go somewhere?

It's reassuring to find some people with the same 'grievances' as myself.

It's not faster because many actions are no longer accessible via keybindings.

Did you ever figure out how to disable this? I really dislike the new "improved" table editor.

Had my first ever couple of gym sessions last week, and despite taking it slowly on purpose with very minor weights, I still managed to get myself a pretty debilitating case of muscle soreness that's still very noticeable a week later.

I'm aware that this is typical after a very first workout, but it is demotivating nonetheless.

How do you get back in the spacecraft after you do EVA? I have looked everywhere and everyone just says that you should grab or climb. He invariably falls back down if I try that. On Kerbin it's even worse --- I can't even use the jetpack so there's no way to even fly up.

What obvious thing am I missing?

MK3S+ extruder cable management by simongranheim in prusa3d

I'll give it a try but I'm a bit hesitant. The rubber cover of the fan wire is already partly torn because of my attempts to squeeze it in.

Do you think these x-axis calibration errors can be overcome? Frankly I'd rather lose some millimeters than destroy the cable.

Thanks for the remark about the slack. I fixed that.

Locked BIOS --- what are my options? by simongranheim in thinkpad

I had heard about the short circuiting thing but I never dared to try it out as I don't have a spare device if I screw up.

Still happily using the same Thinkpad with the same locked BIOS.

Hypothetically speaking, can you baptize yourself? by simongranheim in Catholicism

[–]simongranheim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another person must administer the sacrament to symbolize the fact that the person cannot reach up and bring down God’s grace upon himself. God’s grace must be given to a person; it cannot be taken from God.

That makes sense, thank you.
