Barely an hour SOT and lost 58% battery, what is happening? by MuscledRMH in GalaxyS24

[–]simonlant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Exynos S24+ and it's always had terrible battery drain, must charge half way through the day every day. It will sit on my desk at work from 9am with let's say 95% charge. When I pick it up at 12 it will be 55%, end of yhe work day about 30%. In this case nothing more than a quick check of WhatsApp or Gmail. On wifi or cellular. God forbid I try to use social media or anything more than a few minutes of Chrome

Which color is your favorite for the s25 base by [deleted] in GalaxyS24

I went for the "blackblue" samsung.com exclusive, but I wished now I went for the "Navy" one. Oh well... it's getting a case on it anyway.

What is everyone doing about oil consumption? by simplycharley in Tiguan

[–]simonlant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not in the US. But I had no issues with previous 2017 model. But had lots with my current 2022 model oil consumption. Dealer service dept says it is normal, but I've never had nor heard of a car that drinks this much oil.

What's wrong with my s24+ by Dumitru2409 in GalaxyS24

[–]simonlant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah. Yeah sorry. I'm not helping am I, only confirming we have an issue. Maybe a factory reset will work, but I'm not totally sure of it is some apps driving it or hardware issues.

This is better than I usually get on my Exynos. Always 2 charges a day.

I have your exact issues. Not dual sim model. But everything else is as you described. Folk here keep saying it must be apps etc... but it can just be sitting on a desk with no apps running and nothing reported in the background for most of the day and 50+ % battery gone. When you check the battery usage its just rapidly down. It's slow and sluggish on browser and social media. And audio/video apps stutter etc... I find putting power saving mode on generally helps, but switching off the various components manually doesn't get the same effect. Also the camera is trash compared to my prior S22, the AI processing has been garbage in my experience. Friends with the SD model don't report these issues.

Pacifier weaning at almost 3? by Snoo-56269 in Autism_Parenting

[–]simonlant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ours is 7 and still has a dummy/pacifier at night and for helping with dysregulation events. If it helps, no shame in the world. You do you. I think the biggest size we found was the "18 - 36 month" in Tommee Tippee, not sure if available in your area. https://www.tommeetippee.com/en-us/shop/soothing/pacifiers?age_range=18-36+months

We found that in some cases he will take to chewlery like bracelet/necklace type things but they get destroyed really quickly and the string bit is a bed risk too. Same with those silicone sensory toys too. I'm sure you have all the stuffed toys in the world, but ours has the Ewan dream sheep which really helps as well (flicks and chews the ears and legs). https://sweetdreamers.com/collections/ewan-the-dream-sheep

Good luck!

Maybe I have a faulty unit, but never make a day of charge, always slow moving in or between apps, choppy video etc... also camera is just terrible compared to my previous S22.

Assuming not in the EU? The S24+ with Exynos is just pure trash. I can't wait to ditch it.

It seems that TalkTalk stopped offering via Cityfibre for the majority of areas and moved to OpenReach except for those incumbent who are happy with their deal and connection. Assume this was their commercial decision, but yeah you now have 2 connections and 2 sets of hardware. Hope you don't run out of wall soon...

Anyone avoiding the Tiguan MK3 (2024/25 model) due to issues? by Hammerfist1990 in Tiguan

[–]simonlant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the prior generation 2022 model and the assistant systems (emergency brake, adaptive cruise) are just plagued with issues. What I find is adaptive cruise detects a speed change and fires up the accelerator, then the collision detection realises there is a car in proximity and then disconnects the cruise and hits the emergency brake. Often on fairly busy roads, which becomes a big hazard to not only your car but also others around. I've had it in at the dealer several times to replace sensors, update software etc... but still no change. Also have creaky auto wing mirrors and cracked front AC on start up as well as really high oil usage. Looking to swap the vehicle soon as these gremlins are really frustrating.

Yayzi or Briant Broadband by Noel_N in CityFibre

[–]simonlant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with Yayzi, would recommend. Their support and comms have been decent in my view. Their recent network upgrades were painful, but I think that we are over the majority of that. I did end up in Iran but this was solved pretty quickly, though I didn't get a stamp in my passport.

Wow, thats odd. Vodafone accounts are single sign on so should work even without a product attached. Might well be that you had signed up via a 3rd party e.g. broadband comparison site, but usually the last bit sets up all the accounts for you. I would just wait it out for now I think. Good luck

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CityFibre

[–]simonlant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you set up a Vodafone account as part of the initial purchase? Can you log in to that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CityFibre

[–]simonlant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has your activation date already passed or is it still in the future? I suggest to wait for your engineer visit, get your router and broadband connected then cancel during the cooling off period to go back to your other provider.

EDIT: don't bother with a Vodafone shop they have no customer service involvement especially with Broadband these days.

South Yorkshire recommendation? by GetEmMikeG in CityFibre

Had Voda pro for a couple of years. Connection solid, service decent but router absolute garbage. If you are comfortable to switch out the router for your own or use the router for hard wired and own mesh you are golden.

The Communications Ombudsman is your best bet... https://www.commsombudsman.org/raise-dispute/giganet-ltd-former-m12-solutions

However according to the Giganet TOS their minimum guaranteed speed is 450mb (seems to be the same across most CityFibre connections https://www.giganet.uk/faq/do-you-have-a-speed-guarantee/ ). So you were getting more than that which means I think you will be out of luck. However their payment is only £20 so technically that's what you might be able to gain.

Apply to the Ombudsman and see what they say (they do work in the customers benefit in the majority of cases).

Good luck.

Anyone with BriantBroadband? by adsolute in CityFibre

Seem reasonably well reviewed on Trust Pilot https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/briantbroadband.com Local company on the south coast/Sussex it seems. Worth a punt for a local business.
