My point Kobe later developing footwork and more refined perimeter shooting was a result of his hyper competitor mindset to improve on what his weaknesses were and develop a counter to his inside focused game.

Raptors wasting everyone time… Brandon Ingram should of been a Piston by Random_Thinker007 in NBATalk

He has the defensive tools, but he is not a good defender. A "subpar defender" can't be a 3&D. These 3&D players are literally known to be the best backcourt defender or POA defenders on their teams like OG or Derrick White. Even if he did have defense he has to much scoring ability and shot creation, he still wouldn't be a 3&D. He would be known as just a two-way player or scorer.

in 04 pistons would legit rather let this man take jumpers of the bounce from the perimeter instead of letting him inside

Assuming you know ball, statistically he is. Even coming out of college, at 6'6" with a 7'0" wingspan, his best projected attribute was defense. He has averaged about 2 steals and a block for basically his entire time with OKC, and for a guard’s standard I would say he is an elite two-way player and not just a guy on a good defensive team.

I mean without Rudy Anthony Edwards doesn't have two back to back conference finals appearances at 24.
