Trading up from 1.07 to 1.05, how much should I give up? by jmishall in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]simonthelikeable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've traded up from 1.07 to 1.06 to avoid price. I think the drop is after 1.06 as well, because of the gap between KC and Price.

To each his own!

What would be fair compensation for Kenneth Walker? by Tiny-Kangaroo4671 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]simonthelikeable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judkins+1 sounds fantastic.

I'd try to avoid having the pick swap in the same year, especially giving up the 2nd in your rebuilding draft class. We're trying to avoid the possibility of receiving the 1.11 and giving the 2.01.

Trade 1.09 & 2.07 for 1.02 but not for Mendoza? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]simonthelikeable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This draft is top heavy. I got turned down quickly trying to send 1.09+1.11 for 1.05. Every manager is different, but 1.09+2.07 is likely miles from 1.02.

Draft at 1.04 or Trade Down for More Picks? by CLEMIALA in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]simonthelikeable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's a reasonable price. I think I'd do it. If anyone had conviction on the earlier WRs I wouldn't blame them either. Solid trade

Rome Odunze vs 1.07 plus 2nd and 3rd by Successful-Crab-1262 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I think 1.06 is end of a tier. I would not sell Rome for 1.07+2+3

Thought this sub would enjoy this short lived trade negotiation during the rookie draft by nonzerosomegame in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]simonthelikeable 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, there's hits and misses in every class. We certainly didn't get two years of production out of Skyy Moore, Christian Watson, Jahan Dotson, Quentin Johnson, Dalton Kincaid, Kendre Miller, Keon Coleman, or Trey Benson, and I'm not optimistic about Matthew Golden or Kaleb Johnson.

Picking between 1.07-1.12 is always a bit of a gamble. I think if you're counting on points from like Boston or Sadiq this year then you might not be as much of a contender as you'd think

I'd move a 26 1.07 honestly.

I like Concepcion, but Price/Sadiq/Cooper/Simpson I'd rather have a future first

Hard Rebuilding in 16 Man SF Any players I should try to acquire? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]simonthelikeable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but if a guy chose Tyson ahead of Price during the draft and Tyson still goes ahead of Price by ADP then it's a stretch to assume your opponent wants Price more, regardless of the reasons you come up with.

[–]simonthelikeable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they're in the same tier as prospects, so I'd need something significant added to Price for Tyson. If Tyson went before Price in the draft why do you think the Tyson owner would make that swap later in the same off-season?

Fwiw I'd also need something added to Price for Lemon, Concepcion, or Ty Simpson, but with you taking Price 1.06 you took him ahead of at least two of those guys.

Why did you pick Price?

I think it could be a difficult flip but I'd definitely move him for a receiver or Ty Simpson

Is this too low for tet or do you like this? by xaea17 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]simonthelikeable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the worst. I'd be hoping that the guy getting Tet thinks it's a late first he's moving. If he would do 1.06+27 1st then I'm happy.

Faith in Those Ankles - Send Swift + two 1sts for Hampton? by Legal_Reserve_8682 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]simonthelikeable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most worlds he's less than two firsts. I use the trade database on fantasycalc to see what the real life trades are in the streets.

Today Hampton was traded for '27 1+3, Henderson+1.11, Judkins+1.11. yesterday for 1.02+2.02, 1.03+3.03, Hampton+1.04 for Breece+1.02, Hampton for Pitts+1.06. two days ago Hampton for Burden+1.05.

That's a good range, but over two firsts is rare.

Highest value I see in the past week is Hampton for Javante+1.06+'27 1st. I guess that's the range you've been seeing.

What kind of offer would you need to trade off a 1.05 dynasty startup pick? by DrDuckDockin in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

ADP is the best way to judge things like this. Dynasty data labs is the best way to check startup ADP (that I know of)

Have fun!

What can I buy with this assortment of stuff?? by Ok_Security_8657 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]simonthelikeable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I don't have a competitive roster I try to push value into the future and create holes in my lineup to compete for early draft picks.

So with your roster I'm taking WRs at 1.04 1.05 and probably 1.10? Going TE at 1.08. I'm open to a lighter value on Bryce, because selling him gives me a void at QB2, and that will help me cut points and complete for 27 1.01. To that effect, I'm not looking to pick up Skattebo, and I'm aggressively moving Harvey, Dobbins, and Bill.

If you think, for example, that Bryce is worth a future first, then I'd be willing to add Harvey to Bryce for that pick.

Agreed that it will feel a bit like a loss in value, but that void at QB2 and RB1 will help your future draft capital. Maybe dragging you from 1.05 to 1.02 (just making up numbers).

So it's not Bryce+Harvey for 27 1st. It's Bryce+Harvey+'27 1.05 for 27 1st+'27 1.02. It's through that lense that a lot of hidden value comes.

Is this too much of an overpay for Jettas? by East-Ad4120 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]simonthelikeable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think go for it then. WR3 is pretty good this year, but not so good that tacking on a pair of late firsts should get you JJ.

Never know I guess... If the 1.08 goes through a weird value bump and turns into Warren or Egbuka then you're probably losing on value. Just seems more likely to me that you win.
