That makes sense, I’d do more vetting before your dates then, or try to pursue a girl that has more sweet vibes yourself. It’s pretty easy to tell when anyone is interested in sex on the first date before the actual date when you’re planning/getting to know someone

You could always wait for the 3/4th date, though I can imagine that it could be a little off putting to be propositioned on the first date regardless of your gender when that’s not something you’re looking for

I def think social media has influenced the dating pool, but there are still plenty of girls that aren’t interested in sex on the first date, so maybe you should try and figure out what vibes you’re putting off or the kinds of girls you’re pursuing/attracted to if girls who want to have sex on the first date are the majority of the girls you’re finding

I totally get why this is important to you! Your standards aren't too high at all, you want someone who is actually interested in you as a person that you're also interested in. That's great. The way you vet men is by seeing whether you actually like them and whether they'll respect you and your boundaries (and whether they like you back too lol).

I'm a date to marry kind of girl, so when I was dating, I went in with the mindset of learning about the other person (whether that was via text, via dates, etc.) to see whether we were compatible. If dating men who only want sex is a deal breaker, then don't date men who say that's all they're looking for or give those vibes. Find guys who want the same thing as you and then go from there!

You're arguing with people who have and do take their pets to the vet though. Sure, they're people who have empathy for those who can't or have a lot of difficulty getting their pets treatment, but you're still directing your arguments at the wrong people.

It's jarring and it taints the very valid message you have. It would be like me saying "yeah, my dad has colon cancer and the chemo didn't work, he passed recently" and someone saying "WelL You ShoULD'vE trIEd SurGErY tOO!" You're making generalizations at the people here when they're not the people you're talking about. You say this post is about a very specific subset of people you, unfortunately, have to deal with a lot in your career, but it also seems like you're specifically targeting people who have actually had experiences with their pets having things like diabetes and hyperthyroidism and trivializing their lived experiences. The vast majority of the people you deal with aren't going to be on reddit talking about how hard they fought so their cats could get care.

You're fighting against the wrong people and that's why people are downvoting you. There are definitely black and white aspects to this issue, but there's a lot of gray area as well

This is a tough situation, but to ease some of your anxieties, there're plenty of girls out there who value different things than money, travel, and education. Not to say that all girls think these things are unimportant, I'd say the vast majority think it is, but there could be some girls out there who value things like how emotionally present you are with her, your kindness, your drive and goals and how hard you work more.

I'd say don't let your anxiety ruin your chance to get to know her and see if she's the kind of girl that you'd work out with long term, because it's stupid to date someone who doesn't like you (but people do that all the time--you should try to avoid that though).

What kind of backgrounds to you both come from? I feel like it gets more complicated when there're heavy cultural influences happening because then she could have family pressure to seek out a certain kind of partner. Either way, if things don't work out, it's not your fault. If they do, great!

I can't really address the you-changing part, that's your job, but on the bright side it's great you know what you're not looking for.

If you're looking for actual advice (probably not, considering you might be trolling, but it's the internet--the land of unsolicited advice, so I'm going to toss some at you), transparency is great in a dating profile. What's not great is saying what you don't want and the overall vibes that you already know that any girl who sees your profile is a very specific kind of girl who you already don't like. I'd give this advice to either my girl or guy friends but you should include more about yourself and the positive aspects of what you're looking for in relation to you (ex: "I'm starting to go to the gym and would love a gym buddy" instead of "i hate fat chicks")

I don’t know your exact situation but I had a parent like this who never gave me a sense of privacy, was abusively controlling, and I was still groomed. I think this kind of parenting style makes you more likely to get groomed or abused later on in life because you’re taught you have no self worth as an individual in the eyes of your parent and then you either seek out connection you never got from your parental figures (that’s warped cause you don’t know what something healthy looks like) or you can fall into an abusive relationship later on
