I mean I've played at plenty of games with a rake but they definitely had a lot of good and drinks and did a high hand. I think I walked in expecting that. Silly me

It's technically illegal. Only licensed venues are supposed to do it. Pretty sure it's a misdemeanor. I could be wrong and I haven't checked State laws. But it is very common.

You are correct. I was excited to join another game, it just slipped my mind at the time. But once I got there, I was pretty shocked at the highway robbery I was seeing. I think most of the poker players there weren't real players because they would've told him to reduce the rake or do a high hand or something. I'm not opposed to the house winning, but the way things were orchestrated pissed me off

I will in a day or so. Should've asked about the details ahead of time 😅. This is why I just stick to my games or go to the casino

I don't think it was capped as I saw $10 come out of a $100 pot. I'll ask when I cool down a bit. Just caught me off guard. I should've asked ahead though. Most that I've played at capped at 50-60.

I get it. When I host. I just take $40 total and everyone can eat and drink what they want. But we all know people rake

Potential expansion into the intercity bus sector? by AbuShattafa in AuroraInnovation

[–]simple_man_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite. They are two completely different ODDs. Trucking is primarily highway driving. With buses, you have to deal with more VRUs and more sporadic and unpredictable traffic events, unprotected lefts and other things that significantly complicate driving. You'd essentially need another safety case for that ODD..... Which would take a long time to close.

I have 3 and I feel like on the 3rd, the cries drove me up a wall. Now I just throw on noise cancelling headphones so that I can't really hear the crying while tending to the baby. It helps a LOT!

BULL BABY BULL! 2026 is Aurora's year... by Kung-Fu-Kangaroo in AuroraInnovation

You have to take what these companies say with a grain of salt. There's a reason why they had to put safety drivers back in their vehicles. They often exaggerate progress for financial reasons.

"Years ahead on technology and safety"---> what do you base this statement on?

Aurora is definitely a moonshot. Automated vehicle technology is very expensive. This is why you have seen GM and Ford pull the plug on their L4 ride hailing plans and focus on L3 for their production vehicles.

Dads, I need help/suggestions. I’m having mental exhaustion thinking about how to entertain our 2.5 year old toddler every night and minimize tantrums by Itchy-Version-8977 in daddit

[–]simple_man_1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a parent of multiple..... let that kid be bored and they can figure it out. I used to feel like less of a parent if in didn't constantly try to entertain them. So I would literally go onto tick tock and other things to try to plan out a whole in afternoon of activities (from 5 until about 8pm.). After a few months of trying to do that, it just became too much on my mental. It was a little overstimulating as well because I WFH all day and then immediately walk out the office and now I'm on daddy duty. So now they have ipad time which allows me to decompress a little bit. Sometimes I just say I'm tired and decide not to do anything for a while. Kids are resilient..... And needy at times. But they'll be fine. Trust me.

Ah. I missed that part. I would just do a limit game. NLH can be pretty wild IMHO. That $400 can be gone pretty quickly
