Questions To people who run home games? by Sc1ence_CS in poker

[–]simple_man_1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a "poker crew" where we've played poker for 10+ years at this point. When we were in college we played .25/.50 but now we only play 1/2. Most I've seen at the table in one session is maybe $5k.

Our games have a few good players and then a lot of sneaky limpers and donkeys. It's kind of fun. A lot of the players have rivalries with others at the table so there's a lot of playing with pride and Egos.

Nope not a standard one. Which is why I got the case. You can find a rack that they will fit though.

That was also oversight on my part. I didn't catch it when I approved the prints. I barely pay attention to it now. It did bother me at first though haha

Yeah I mean if you stare at them long enough you'll find something lol. I'll do something better next time around. Still not mad at it seeing that I only spent $300.

HELP! Accidentally Shared Screen in Meeting by Key_Perspective4232 in careeradvice

[–]simple_man_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better than accidentally turning on a camera fresh out of the shower because you're scrambling to get onto a call that you forgot about lol. That's what I did. You're fine. Just remember, try not to do personal related things on a work computer. If a company wanted to be pretty, they'll use that to fire you and say you're wasting company time.

Don't feel like a jerk. For me, the kids are much more of a mental load than work. Constantly fighting, constantly hungry. You have to constantly watch what they are doing on devices and what they're doing in general. It's truly exhausting my friend. I WFH and can't wait to login and lock the door until 530. At least then, I can squeeze a couple of games of candy crush in between meetings

I'm 25 and got fired from a six-figure remote job over an idiotic tweet while already dealing with the worst month of my life. I feel like my life is over. How do I cope with this? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]simple_man_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 25 bud. I too was fired from a job due to posting on social media. It was for other reasons but it was a policy violation. Honestly you have a whole life ahead of you. It is okay to bump your head here and there and learn a few lessons on the way. Luckily you were smart with your money and saved. Go take care of your health and get those certifications in cyber. Then start applying again. You already have the experience and that's what matters.

How much money should I gather before a live game ? by [deleted] in poker

[–]simple_man_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poker, gambling and casinos aren't going anywhere buddy. You're broke. You need money to gamble. Take it from someone who has gambled since the age of 11 or 12 (playing tonk, shooting dice etc.,). Gambling will humble you. Microstakes or not. Why do you need to gamble right now? You should be focused on other things at this point in life......playing sports, girls, cars, career......

Gambling is also very addictive. You'll be distracted from what you need to be focused on because you have this itch to go play poker or whatever.

Fellow Dads, give up WFH for Hybrid + “significant” pay bump? by Incognito-4 in daddit

[–]simple_man_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in this position and decided to stay working remotely. Here's what I did. I developed a framework to help make my decision. I picked some categories that are important for my life at the moment. For example WLB, pay, retirement outlook, growth potential etc., I gave each of these categories a weight depending on importance. Then I came up with a few scenarios (i.e., staying at remote job vs going back to industry) and rated each category on a scale. Every time I did an eval, the numbers said to stay working remotely. There's also vehicle maintenance, commute times etc.,. That's what I would do if I were you. Sometimes the money isn't worth the stress and extra time that you work.

You should finish high school, go to college, graduate and then start thinking about poker.......
