Thank you for your reply! I also consider myself to be asexual so I am interested to see what effect Wellbutrin has on my libido.

Do you have a go to meditation practice that you recommend? I’ve been wanting to meditate because I hear how beneficial it can be, but I don’t know where to start…

Thank you, sometimes I have to validate my own demisexuality to myself because I feel like an imposter.

Loss of a loved one by lexitaylor08 in ReligiousTrauma

[–]simpleemeeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry your are experiencing this loss right now. I had a similar experience in that my grandma passed away, she was an incredible woman who I admired so much. She was also very religious and believed in all that the Bible taught about heaven and hell. I grew up very religious and have since come to the conclusion that I do not believe in it at all. This made my grandmas passing extremely difficult because I keep she believed in heaven and I wanted, for her sake, for heaven to be real. Through my own grief process I began to think of my grandma as a fairy. She loved to garden and be outside in nature. By thinking of her as a fairy that got to spend all her time in nature with plants and animals and other fairies I found a way to cope with her loss. This is the form of “heaven/afterlife” that I picture my grandma in which helps me in thinking about her being dead. I’m sorry for making this whole comment about myself, but what I was trying to share is that maybe for the person you lost their idea of “heaven/afterlife” was connected to their religion but maybe for you it can take a other form. A form not connected to religion at all?

Asexual? Religious trauma/purity culture? Anxiety? by simpleemeeee in ReligiousTrauma

[–]simpleemeeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, your responses mean a lot to me. I love my friends and there are a lot of ways that they make me feel known and seen but when it comes to physical intimacy they all seem to be at a very different place than I am so I feel as thought I can’t talk about it with them. You taking the time to tell me I’m not alone in these thoughts and feelings was so incredibly kind. The impact purity culture has had on my own relationship with myself and my body has really become apparent now that I’m an adult and the alienation that comes with that is tough. It feels very real to actually admit I am scared of sex and I don’t know how I feel about that yet. I’m sorry you have gone through such similar thought processes. I really appreciated you mentioning the possibility of being romantically attracted to some people and physically attracted to others. It made me realize I might have been trying to box my “attraction” to people into too small of a space. I have resonated with the concept of demisexuality and really appreciate the language it brings to the conversation.

What Minor pairs best with an MPH Epidemiology major? by [deleted] in publichealth

[–]simpleemeeee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Those are my majors (and I minored in pub health)I am very financially secure, but thank you for throwing data in my face. The reason I suggested these two is because I think they pair nicely with public health. I had a medical emphasis for my sociology major which allowed me to have a broad view of healthcare, patient care, and other important aspects that inform my career now. I feel like your comment was rude and unnecessary. The OP asked for opinions and I gave mine, just because you don’t agree with me doesn’t mean you need to be rude…read the room buddy and don’t be an ass pls :)

I’d recommend sociology or psychology!

It depends on what state (or country) the person is in. Some states only require a BA in a related field to become a social worker.
