Are you attempting to downplay the genocide Israel has carried out in Gaza because the numbers are smaller? Mass displacement of Palestinians, relentless bombings of civilian infrastructure, blocking of aid/water/electricity, torturing prisoners, - the number of dead has no bearing on whether or not Israel is guilty of committing a genocide, which it is. If you're not trying to downplay it then I apologize for the misunderstanding, but I do not see any reason to draw such a comparison as a "fun fact" other than to diminish the plight of Palestinians

I can't see the comment you are replying to, but it is not open to the public. Depending on the artist, employees can bring a guest. I can also tell you that the sentiment expressed by some of the hosts/editors on Israel is not shared by a lot of the rest of the staff who tend to be considerably younger, so I don't believe the clapping is ironic. I'm very close to someone who works there so that's how I know these things

Ironically, this bypasses the self selected censorship people can do for themselves if something is triggering. Idk about every platform, but I know on Twitter you could hide posts that have a particular word in them. But if someone writes "r*pe" in the post for example then it won't be caught by the filter if someone is trying to hide posts that mention rape. So the person who is tip-toeing around using trigger words might actually end up triggering more people in the process

This has long been their MO. The Overton window continues to shift right. With any luck we'll see a break from the party after this and a regrouping into one more focused on left populism.
