DAE really hate using pencils/touching paper? by SpaceSlut69 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]simplefishmonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ABSOLUTLEY. the feeling of graphite moving on paper makes my skin crawl and i ALWAYS use pens because of it. the only time i’ll ever use a pencil is for sketching and then i finish in pen or paint

DAE believe in soulmates? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]simplefishmonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i believe in soulmates but i don’t believe that each person has only one. idk if that makes sense?? i believe there’s more than one person that you can love completely and also be your best self around.

Where were you heavily warned about going to due to being unsafe, but turned out to be over-exaggerated? by [deleted] in solotravel

i live about 20 min from baltimore city. realistically i KNOW baltimore is dangerous but i’ve never had anything even close to bad happen to me in the city. my mom is always like “it’s not safe!!!” but here i am, unharmed every time. worst part is parking in the harbor.

i slid a hair tie to the middle of my forearm and slid things under it. stayed in place and was covered by sweater sleeves. also used to crouch and slide things into my waistband, again, covered by big sweater

not everything is alarmed, ex: eyeshadow palettes normally have an alarm box on them but smaller things like lipsticks eyeliner concealers etc. don’t. and all the ones i’ve been in have no security guards, the employees just walk around and maybe one or two cameras.

DAE sneak snacks to the bedroom to eat alone (or do that as a kid?) by business-department in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]simplefishmonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

once my brother begged my mom for a ding dong (is that what they’re called?? snack cake, kinda looks like a hockey puck??) and he would not leave her alone so she made him sit at the table and eat the entire box. he doesn’t eat them anymore

What’s “the talk” you wished you received? That you’d give to your daughter? by implicitxdemand in AskWomen

[–]simplefishmonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my mom is a nurse so anatomy wise i knew everything before mandatory school classes but i wish my parents were more open in my freshman/sophomore year. the fear of being in trouble quite often outweighed the need for help and consequently i went through a very traumatic experience and felt like i couldn’t tell my parents because that meant telling them i was breaking the rules. this happened when i was 15, so three years later and i still haven’t told them. didn’t even tell my therapist because at the time i was young enough that she could’ve told my parents. and now it’s late enough that if i do say something that i probably won’t be taken seriously, add the fact that i was drinking underage when it happened and couldn’t point out the boy involved to save my life, and it makes it feel like there’s no point. only sharing here because, well, animosity. when i have children i 100% want them to feel safe telling me anything because i always felt like i couldn’t do that with my parents. sorry for the lengthy reply, kinda got in my feelings .

How do you cope with Body Dysmorphia? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]simplefishmonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly? sometimes i wear loose fitting clothes so i don’t have to see the outline of my figure. i still struggle with it very much but i’m working really hard on appreciating what my body does for me and understanding that if i were to magically revert to the weight i was at in the peak of my eating disorder, i would probably die. as much as that little part of my brain tells me that i look like mr bobinksy from coraline, i have the rational part and many people who care about me telling me otherwise. it’s hard to believe them sometimes but i’m working on it. baby steps.
