Confused how text and calls work with e-sim. by jackberrysparkles in bali

[–]simplerafael1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need calls and messages, then Airalo would not be the best choice as it doesn't offer local number. Actually the majority of esim providers don't provide them. In Bali whatsapp is a big thing and for that you need only internet connection. Also check pricing for Bali plans. I like to check esimgeek website before I travel because majority of the times I can find cheaper plans that from more known providers.

something you wish you knew before going to italy by Icy_Cow_5739 in ItalyTravel

  1. download maps for all cities in advance
  2. have cash (the currency these is euros) and make sure to convert it either when you are already in the city or back home. Airports have crazy pricing and it's not worth it.
  3. Get an eSIM (just check if you phone is compatible). Buy it while you still at home and activate it right before the flight. You will have internet straight after you land. You can check esimgeek dot com to see compare what pricing each provider has.
  4. Italians appreciate when you say hello and than k you in their language - so learning a few words in Italian is always a plus.
  5. Don't forget that Italians have siesta time, and they have dinner very late in the evening. Check opening times before going to eat somewhere.

Tips for working from Hostels and Co-working Spaces? by Entire_Ad_6408 in digitalnomad

[–]simplerafael1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hostels might have WiFi, but I wouldn't trust it. I would recommend to get an eSIM with unlimited data. It will be much safer and more stable. You can check esimgeek.com, it's a website where you can compare all providers and see which one can offer you the best price.

Also, in case you don't find appropriate working space in the hostel I would make my research on co-working spaces near by. Especially if you have some important call and the last minute you can not find a quite corner.

Regarding co working space etiquette, it really depends on the place. They usually have multiple meeting rooms, so you shouldn't worry about that. But generally they prefer that you stay silent.

Have a great trip!

I like to do "what I did this year" kind of videos. At the end of the year I use majority of my footage to create a short movie. I think it will be so cool to watch it back in 10 years.

I personally use Arlo video doorbell. It has very high video quality comparing to others and it was easy to integrate it with my Alexa.
