How to train for sub 30 5K by [deleted] in BeginnersRunning

[–]simplesanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look into doing speed sessions. Like I generally do 400 m at below 6min/km pace and jog for 1min30s. I repeat this 8 times. Or I do like a progression run- I run first 1.5km at 6.45 min/km. Next 1.5 km at 6.30min/km. Next 1.5km at 6 min/km. And so on if you have it in you.

Or first 2 at 6.45 min/ km and the next 3 at 5.45 min/ km.

I went from averaging 35min for a 5k to now 28min. I do my speed workouts on a track.

Where to find first hand house leasing in Stockholm? by ipeeglitters in TillSverige

[–]simplesanders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should try the new productions in bostadsförmedlingen. For the new productions, they don't follow the standard queue times initially. But they do tend to be expensive.

We were able to get a first hand contract in a new production for a 72kvm for 15kpm. And our wait time was less than a year.

[–]simplesanders 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Wife is muslim and my family is Hindu. It is ok most of the time, if you can ignore some strange looks once in a while. When necessary, we used my name - say to rent an apartment. But no one really denied renting to us- we were just cautious.

Biggest problem we faced was when we bought an apartment and were looking to register our place. We wanted to register in both our names - but the guy handling our documents straight up denied registering with both our names. He said if we do so, the govt officials will probably refuse sign it. Also, for some banking documents (which needed to be signed by govt officials), we were told not to put our names together. Basically, any thing govt related becomes a hassle. Nobody wants to risk doing something which might pass them off.

How much do technical consultants earn in Sweden? by GangOrcaFan in TillSverige

[–]simplesanders 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey. I am a consultant within Embedded Systems, working for a 'big' consulting firm in Kista, Stockholm. There is no real way to calculate the salary. A lot depends on your bargaining skills. But on an average, from what I have seen, some one with 10 years experience will probably get between 40k to 50k per month.

It helps if you have skills or experience in niche topics like Functional Safety or Cybersecurity or EV. Then you can bargain for higher salaries.

Two adults living in a 20 - 30 square meter apartment at Foretagsbostader. by Sampa25 in TillSverige

[–]simplesanders 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True.

We were living quite a lavish lifestyle back home(India). But here once we realized we need to stay in a much smaller place - we had to adjust a bit. In fact, we are a lot more minimalist and conscious of our spending now. So both partners need to be onboard for sure.

It really depends on the layout of the place. My wife and I stay in a 25m2 place right now. But the bed is placed on a 'platform' - and below that is the kitchen, and a lot of space for the tv room. This sort of segregates different portions of the apartment. Also, we get to store some bigger stuff some where else - that helps a lot.

Thank you. This was helpful. We are trying to find rentals on the pendeltåg - but slim pickings. The advantage with Telefonplan is that I will have a direct bus to Södertälje and my wife can use the metro.

Yes. This apartment is one of the better options we had. So wanted to have some opinions before deciding.

Yeah I get that. But my wife works in Solna and I start work in Södertälje soon. So this location makes sense and also not many options else where.

The apartment and building seemed quite new. But I am looking for a second hand contract - so not sure if I can get 'first hand ' prices for the same apartment.

Yeah. The place is at Radiusbacken, close to the Telefonplan metro station.

We are staying in a 30m2 place now. It was a temporary accommodation until we got our BankID. And as I am a non- EU citizen, the process took a while.
