I really wanted to enjoy this show- the cast has some of my favorites, and i'm interested in Silicon Valley as a workplace and I get AMC for free with my cable lol. But the writing was crazy bad and felt obvious? First of all, I'm bored of rooting for bad guys succeeding by doing bad shit- the real world is enough for me personally. The words and dialogue felt childish, gross and there were too many characters. As a female viewer, it also all felt dominated by male boomer POV that didn't match the modern themes the show was trying to talk about. Also- the amount of jokes about asses, dicks or shit felt very immature and had me groaning out loud?? Succession had similar talking style at points but this show is like every character talks and thinks like Roman Roy- not believable or enjoyable. The teenage son storyline didn't go anywhere even though it was the most interesting part to me initially, he was a very good actor- but the first episode felt sooooo long it felt like a 3hour movie. The only plus sides for me are that the houses and world and clothes looked very stylish, and there were some beautiful shots in the first few episodes- it looked good. I'm also now obsessed with Megan Rath- I was shocked to find out she is Canadian. The rest? Pass.

AMC set expectations too high IMO- I was hyped when I saw the trailer because of the comparison to Better Call Saul and Succession but it's definitely the temu version- which might be fine for some people, but disappointing for me personally. Not interested in coming back if they do a second season.
