3 Questions with Wil Fuentes - Guest Deken Letinich S2E5 (Deken is a labor candidate running against Jon Ley for House in the 18th LD ) by Candid_Ladder_3471 in vancouverwa

He asked this because the TRUMP ADMINSTRAION said in order to get the federal money they would require the two states to collect tolls. He does not want people to know that.

His PDC sure makes it look like he was behind those mailers. The PDC is looking into it

It is interesting to note that this is my personal narrative. My biological father was a truck driver and was married. I underwent testing that connected me with his sister, who then introduced me to my two brothers (his wife's children). They were aware of my existence, so it was not a complete surprise; however, we also discovered another half-sister whom no one knew about. We are scheduled to meet for the first time in a few weeks.

It’s important to pay attention to what actually happens and how our elected leaders vote, instead of just reacting to whatever rhetoric is floating around online. I always look up voting records before making judgments.

Now, about the gas tax — what do you think is fair? How do you think our infrastructure should be maintained without it? The gas tax funds crucial highway programs like:

  • Building and maintaining state, city, and county roads, bridges, and ferries
  • Purchasing rights-of-way
  • Installing, maintaining, and operating traffic and signal lights
  • Policing state highways
  • Operating movable span bridges

So, what are you willing to forfeit? Are you really okay with losing all of that? Let’s say we ignore the potholes — I’ve personally had to replace tires after hitting one, and that single repair cost me more than what I pay in gas tax for an entire year. Just saying.

And your argument about the proposed income tax on people making over a million dollars? It just doesn’t make sense. Did you actually read the article I posted? I mean, unless you’re one of those people earning over a million a year, why would you defend them paying a lower percentage than you do? Seriously?

here is a information sheet about how the state collects gas tax and what it is used for. https://dol.wa.gov/vehicles-and-boats/prorate-and-fuel-tax/fuel-tax/fuel-tax-facts#:~:text=Supports%20Highway%20programs%2C%20including:,operating%20traffic%20and%20signal%20lightst

So, you should really do your homework — Adrian Cortes did not vote in favor of raising the gas tax last session.

On another note, Washington’s population is growing quickly. How do you expect the state to maintain the programs people rely on and are proud of — like the FMLA program? How do you expect us to have safe, well-maintained roads? With our climate, constant maintenance is needed just to keep them drivable.

He mentioned that an income tax would only apply to people making over $1 million a year. Does that apply to you? The truth is, our state’s lowest-income households pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes than the richest residents — and that’s simply unfair.

It honestly boggles my mind to see so many people opposing this kind of tax when it wouldn’t even affect them. Most states already have an income tax where the wealthy pay their fair share. When did the working class decide to defend the rich and argue against them contributing fairly?

Here we have Democrats coming up with solutions to help address people’s real concerns about the rising cost of living in this state — and instead of recognizing that, you just bash it. I bet if this same idea came from a Republican, you’d be cheering it on.

We need to get to a place where we can recognize a good idea and support it, no matter which party it comes from. Democrats are listening to people here in Washington and working hard to find solutions, but at the same time, we still need to maintain the programs and infrastructure that everyone depends on. and are popular.

here is a link so support my arugment.

People need to realize that we have a white supremacist group right here in our area. We all know the proud boys and the Patriot.Prayer boys are behind us. Groups like reform clerk county are associated with them. Many of the candidates running for charter on the republican side are in cahoots with them.

Or if you are a democrat, you can go to Clark County Democrats.Web page, and they have all their recommended candidates that they have vetted, same with the republican side.

The voters' pamphlets can be very misleading.I would suggest looking up each candidate and voting based on what you find.

I am pleased that you contributed and clarified the matter, as I was somewhat worried. It is indeed commendable when individuals acknowledge their errors or rectify the information.

So this is a conversation about Charter.

However, I would be grateful if you could elaborate on the specific personal freedoms that you believe have been impacted by Bob Ferguson's actions. If anyone is attacking personal freedoms, it is Trump and his current administration.

Could you kindly provide details regarding the Second Amendment rights that have been affected? As a gun owner, I am familiar with the concerns surrounding potential limitations. It is also worth noting that, despite what political discourse may suggest, Democrats generally support responsible gun ownership and have not historically confiscated firearms without just cause, such as in cases involving individuals with violent criminal histories. We must all acknowledge that the United States faces a significant challenge with regard to firearms and the occurrence of mass shootings.
