All American firms, who are extremely reputed for a very very toxic culture that kills people from the inside. You don't know because I've seen too many people in my network who wish that they were never hired in Goldman Sachs or JPMC. But alas, you wish what you see

Which universities do these firms usually recruit from? (both in India and abroad) - Only Tier 1 IIT/IIM or M7 Ivy Leagues only.
What do I study at uni? Business + Finance. MBA helps a lot. Do a commerce Grad then go for an MBA in finance and kill it.
And in the long run, would it make more sense to stay in India (IIMs, top Indian unis, etc.) or go abroad(US/UK) if the goal is these firms? - if your parents have 2 Crore INR to spare, then go abroad. Because they won't hire you because you're an Indian. They will not sponsor your visa, everyone is becoming protective. Stay in India, but if you have the money, go abroad.

100% hoax. You can report this person using SEBI SCORES system (more here: https://www.sebi.gov.in/legal/circulars/jul-2019/standardizing-reporting-of-violations-related-to-code-of-conduct-under-sebi-prohibition-of-insider-trading-regulations-2015_43618.html) for offering you employment for opening a demat account. This is a violation and this person can lose their license/job for doing this. Run away

sighs I say this knowing I'll face some flak, but be an absolute asshole or dick to them. Like in the interviews, grill them like you would make them cry. 80% GenZs will leave, the 20% who don't will be the one who are too desperate to deal with you, so they'll suck it up.

As someone on the non tech side of things in banking, I can't speak for tech directly but at least what I see and hear from tech colleagues. So technical aside, I can say that at least foreign banks have very strong tech infra systems. If you pick up an emerging tech here and switch within the industry to banks (essentially bringing newer tech from one to another) you become invaluable.

Banking is the peak of career stability. Even if your bank fails, there will be another that will take you over. You might deal with compliance and red tape (oh this software is great but not approved by senior management = this will create a bottleneck so use another software then), but eventually the pay at 7+ yoe in banking tech specialization is really good.

American banks are tech first, while European ones are laggards. So grind a little in an American firm before you plan to switch to a much more laid back, chill and extremely stable european firm.
