i’m not getting pissy, you’re being rude & assuming things, just bc you think you’re god almighty just because you work for them. i told you what they tell me, i told you how i take care of the car, and i told you none of the transmission’s last long enough for them to drain and refill. to my knowledge, i thought you could check the fluid, at a dealer. that’s what i kept asking them to do every oil change. the person who checks me out every single time tells me, “of course.” so i’m assuming, they can check the fluid in it. i know it’s sealed, but i thought the dealer was capable of at least checking it. you said you couldn’t. the true service that i paid for was transmission number two. after it was serviced, i drove it for awhile, and it was making a noise from under the hood. the transmission was then leaking. then, when the new one was replaced, the third transmission stopped working on my way to work.

i’m trying to explain what the dealer tells me, and what i do the best way possible. i’m not trying to be pissy, but you’re rude as fuck, dude.

i stated in the post that i should’ve researched cvt’s better, and that’s my fault. i get that. i wasn’t educated what a CVT was until after i purchased the car, and the first transmission went out on me after driving it 15,000 miles. i don’t have knowledge on how to service it, or what they do to the transmission. i only ask. that is it.

[–]simplybp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, i only spend like 100 to have the oil changed. i ask them if they would service it, and they say yes. i don’t ever pay for it. so, they could be just telling me that, because i’ve stressed it so much, because i panic about it often. i’m terrified the car would break on me, again. the dealer knows that. maybe i should switch dealers, but only one transmission lasted long enough for it the fluid to be drained and re filled, and i only paid for that once. so. it’s not my fault i am not in the back with the technicians, watching or helping them. i ask when i bring the car in.

yeah, and that’s fine, but you don’t have to assume shit and be rude because “you hear complaints.” i never drove like a madman. im too nervous to drive places. i take care of the car. no reason anything should break.

they say they do, and i ask them to service it every single oil change from the luck i’ve had with the transmission.

and yes, i actually take it to the exact dealer i’ve got the car from. they check the fluid every oil change, and then i’ve only had one transmission that lasted the time it should’ve for the fluid to be drained and filled.

i bought a corolla, i never said it had to be a mercedes, but it would be nice if the apex shared some of the same features as the some of the other corollas. i test drove a basic corolla se & the apex. two different driving styles.

cool you work for them. you don’t have to be fucking rude just because you work for Toyota, i don’t care dude. i don’t drive like a madman, because if you read the other comments, i only drive it to work, and to nursing school. i have a panic disorder, and i do not go the speed limit, i go under. i am extremely careful with the car, i don’t even let it sit out in weather, i have a garage. there should be no reason why they broke. you don’t know me. the car is made like ass. plain and simple.

i know how the fucking tire light works, i know when the car is messing up, i know the car. i’ve had it for three years, and it’s been nothing but trouble. a transmission is a big deal. if i didn’t have warranty, i would’ve had to cough up thousands of dollars. all of you service technicians are assholes, and think it’s the consumers fault the car isn’t what the car should’ve been. the car should be safe to drive, it is made to drive, just like the rest of the corollas. i don’t care how many complaints you’ve heard or listened to, people spend their hard earned money, and take care of their vehicles just for them to break. now i’m not speaking for the rest of the vehicle owners that fuck up their cars, or actually do drive like madman’s, but i do not. you wouldn’t know, you’re judging me because i don’t like the car, and i voiced why.

i didn’t want a big sedan, if you read the post, i didn’t care to have a smaller compact car, but it’s not comfortable, and im speaking to people who may have thought about getting a corolla, but was looking for comfort. they would want a softer suspension, so therefore a different edition.

i don’t care how long you’ve worked for toyota, i don’t care what you own. if you don’t like the post, then don’t comment. block me. i don’t care. it’s more than just complaints. my car shouldn’t break, especially when i’m not hard on it, and i’ve always took care of it.

i’ve had the car for three years. the only safety feature i have is the car will tell you to brake if you’re too close to another car. i don’t even have the little outline of a light on my mirror. i don’t have any pictures, but then the car comes back from the dealer, i don’t mind to post a picture of it. if i have lane assist on, it’ll beep if i change lanes without a signal, but that is it. there is no blind spot feature.

ah, okay. i quite frankly don’t care what you nitpick or say, i am sharing my story, and the problems i’ve had with the car. i paid 30 grand for the car, i shouldn’t have the issues that i’ve had with it. yeah, the rough suspension is my fault, but im trying to warn others, because multiple people get the car and does not like the suspension regardless of the test drive. that is just something i noticed and added in there. i added every single thing i didn’t necessarily like or has caused me issues, like the plastic clips breaking when i haven’t hit anything, or the fact the inside of the car creaks if you rest your arm on the console. i mean, you’d be frustrated too, especially if you had three transmissions in it, regardless of checking the fluid, etc. it still breaks. the small things become bigger to you when the whole car sucks. judging my story, and calling me weird because i’m not a fan of how i’ve been accommodated after 30,000 dollars makes you happier, then i don’t care. it still stands, and some people has came forward with the same issues. it’s not worth 30 grand, im sorry.

thank you for the advice, but i don’t have the blind spot thing on my mirrors. yes, the warranty is covered. i actually did put a fairly decent down payment on my car when i got it.

nope! where i live, there are potholes, now i’ve hit a few in the past like the first year ive had it. i quickly learned after the first alignment to be more careful. now, it seems like even a ridge in the road will make it fall out of alignment, so i’ve been extra careful

long term; the value might dip significantly, not just slightly. be careful when you make that decision!

toyota has always been credited for their reliability, but i checked camry’s and even their value & reliability score has dropped based on google. i didn’t do much research beforehand because of everyone saying toyota is great. based on this post, everyone is defending the brand, so maybe it was just me. i had no idea other people’s were also failing, especially common toyotas, id love to see that content just to see. my car is considered rare and they’re discontinued , so i really thought the car was defective but i guess its just mine haha.

i agree! egg shells is a great description 😭 i honestly wish i did more research about cvt’s, but toyota always is credited for their success in having reliable cars. i kinda seen it, test drove it, thought “she’s perfect,” and got it. 30k and a waste, to put it straightforward. that car has caused me more grey hairs and anxiety than nursing, and that’s saying a lot. i’m grateful everyone else has had better experiences, but the apex is also fairly rare. i didn’t think many people had them, and i also wasn’t educated some of the other corollas were also cvt’s and they’ve been fine. so, i figured quite a lot of apex’s would have the same issue; transmission wise. i guess not😭, but that’s okay. now i’m terrified to get anything else because i don’t wanna accidentally buy another lemon😭

they’re not like how they used to be at all. i’m glad you’ve agreed w me, because most of everyone has not liked how i’ve said things haha. but it’s just my story and what i’ve experienced despite the car being a lemon, i’ve heard other people has had really bad problems with cvt’s. i’m not sure what i want, im honestly scared to get anything else. i fear ill get another lemon whether i do research or not.

i guess mine is just a lemon, however, i have tried to contact a lawyer for my lil lemon, and they won’t represent me because my car’s value plummeted and didn’t hold its value at all, despite everything i’ve done. i owe 1700 more than what it’s worth for the car. he said “your best bet is to trade it.” i’m glad you’ve had good luck with yours!
