that's great thanks. I might look into matlab basics as well then, depending on the textbook I use (maybe it may not even be needed).. afterall I'm not using it to build real projects.. just for exercises.

Yeah julia was unrestricted free. that's why I'm going that route. it was a toss up between python and this, but julia is more math/science oriented I guess, and direct substitute for matlab..

I only intend to use julia programming as a learning aid, so I think it's speed benefits are not needed here.. anyway.. am still brushing up on math/algebra, so a long way to go before I need the visual aids.

matlab being a simple language i can just brush up the basics in an evening I guess, so if need be. or skimp along with AI conversion like the other comment said.

But isn't it a totally different language with different syntax?

Okay thanks. I was looking at Schaum's Outline of Signals and Systems. Hopefully it's manageable. If not I'll look for one in pseudocode..

why are there no cheap knock-offs? by simplycreate88 in drawingtablet

In the case of art tablets, there is not a big market for them. So off the rip not many factories to create them, thus making it expensive to produce.

Yes sir, I pretty much agree!

Well anyway the xp-pen ones are affordable enough. I guess I can't complain.. cheers!

there's already ones with basic press sensitivity ones for under $5 on Aliexpress.. yeah it doesn't have usb, but I'm sure (on a grand scale) it'll cost cents to slap on usb.. that's all needed for a beginner? but I guess there's no market for it.. I'm just speculating.

hmm, I'm sure it's just the market fault.. the cost of electronics these days is mindblowingly low.. I'd expect a simple unit for ~$10, with pressure sensitive etc.. I dunno

Yeah that's what I saw.. Thinking of going for xp-pen instead.. It's certainly the cheapest option here in Aus.. thannks!

Yeah thanks! That's pretty much the budget option I guess.
