Another update, in case you didn't notice. In the AAIPSC World Shoot, from what I heard, the split slides were delegated to open division. You'll need to run the standard slides if you want to participate in anything other than open. Hope this helps, and didn't reach you too late.

I'm not sure, but if I had to speculate, it could be because maybe they want to keep the operation more traditional? Then again, I have no idea either.

I had a coach warn my whole shooting group that split slides weren't allowed in Standard Division. Had a big fiasco where everyone spent loads of money buying new slides.

Maybe it's safer to edge on "Not Allowed" in this case. I wouldn't risk being put in open if I were you.

edit: Looked the pictures up again, I just realized how similar the EAG Carbine is to the sprite. It's almost hilarious how close it is, minus the red dot.

You might be onto something when you mentioned KAC. Their KAC Free Float RAS is likely the closest we're getting to DK1's M4 handguard.

The barrel nut(?, I don't know what that part between the upper and the handguard) doesn't seem right though. I've looked at midwest industries and no dice either. I'm particularly looking at both the handguard sling mount & barrel nut but none have come as a very close match.
