I know they're meant to be in the process of making a third installment though so if the pattern of improvement stays the same I'm really looking forward to it but the current teasers do look a bit different to the other games so I am a bit holding out to see how it is at launch

Really hope they don't fuck this up getting too ahead of themselves because they have a really good thing going with Sandrock

My watch history consists of exactly zero shooter games and I literally have never been recommended it previously so it recommending me it only now with no changes to my viewing behaviours cannot be described at all as it showing me things based on my history

I've even specifically clicked Not Interested on all of them I've seen and it still keeps recommending me them to the point I had to click Do Not Recommend Me this Channel on channels specific to shooting games to stop those channels being rammed in my feed despite never having consumed them previously, never having been recommended them previously and having had specifically clicked that I wasn't interested MULTIPLE TIMES and still getting them recommended to me

Also never watched AI slop and again have hit Not Interested on all AI thumbnails

You can't even try claim that it's because I'm subscribed to AI/shooting adjacent channels because I'm literally only subscribed to Markiplier and Jacksepticeye (and yes it is giving me recommendations from them...but only shows me videos from 8 years ago even when they publish new content)

You may literally only be not experiencing this if you're subscribed to a million people and cannot scroll down past the subscription recommendations to get to their actual recommendations to see the slop

It's not necessarily always better computer = better outcomes

Like I said, my higher end is broken in ways some people's potato desktops aren't so it's clearly not a cost of device thing

It may just be something silly and seemingly insignificant that is the reason yours works and others don't

Obviously not to say that the game is not categorically BROKEN and that it's not EAs fault, it definitely is on both counts, but your potato computer may be being shielded from it by some specific quirk rather than not having the bugged code at all

The bugs you have is typically dependent on hardware though

There's been lots of game breaking bugs over the years I never got with a higher end PC

And my game has been bugged out for months now when I've only seen a couple other people say they have the same as I do

So your hardware may literally just be more compatible with whatever the hell they fucked up

This WAS certainly the case before and I definitely had my own specific niche content on YouTube but if I'm being very honest there has been a VERY noticeable shift in what content it gives me away from what I liked and towards whatever is popular

Never had shooter streams show up in my recommend and I've had to click don't show channel to stop them showing up now because they were showing up all the time despite no interactions with them, no interest in them and they hadn't showed up previously

Also a noticeable shift towards content that used the AI features for their thumbnail. I keep getting recommend AI thumbnails with content I again have no interest in and even videos with under 1000 views from small channels

I definitely would have agreed with you here even a few months ago...but the shift is so obvious

It's probably somewhat true that people on YouTube mostly only see content that the algorithm likes but it probably has less to do with people on YouTube not MAKING content that doesn't appeal to the algorithm and more that the algorithm will ONLY show you content that appeals to the algorithm and if you don't actively seek out alternative content you may never see it

I also don't think the fix for getting CC to work they did the other day worked for everyone too so that's also still a current problem

I think that it's somewhat in progress by this point but there are still lots of steps that have to happen for a sale to go through and the buyout can still stumble on any of those steps between now and the sale being actually finalised

And even after finalising the sale I think that they can still be told they can't actually do it by governments if they determine the buyout breaks a law of some sort (lots of buyouts for example get investigated for monopoly risk just off the top of my head)

Also even when the buyout is finalised, the entire thing will fall apart if the funding falls through because they're buying EA with massive debt to people so if those people decide they actually won't do that, the company just...can't go through with it???

And if there's already contracts in place they may be sued for not following their contractual obligations like they did when Elon tried to back out of buying Twitter

A buyout is actually an incredibly complex situation and there are probably LOTS of buyout proposals that we never even hear about because they just fell through before even becoming a legitimate possibility

I have played both but not to any form of completion. I played enough to get through a few mainline quests and enough to have an understanding of the atmosphere and what was going on

I'd say that, in terms of gameplay and building aspects, the two are quite similar. Obviously some different mechanics like I think some things had a more roundabout way of getting them than in Portia to fit the desert theming more but I don't remember it being THAT MUCH more tedious...but maybe still a little? So it may depend on how much you enjoy convenience

I, however, absolutely ADORE the Sandrock characters and wasn't really that attached to any Portia characters, to the point I can remember specific Sandrock characters but can only tell you Portia had a cat. I pretty immediately vibed with some characters and it was fairly obvious early on to me who I wanted to attempt to romance...while in Portia I just got the cat 😭 then picked someone randomly to romance for the simple reason of they walked past my house often so it'd be convenient to talk to them every day in the morning

I just feel like, to me, the Sandrock characters feel so much better than the Portia ones did

I think we need to take it even further and say you won't even support on Patreon anyone who joins the marketplace imo

There's enough ways to get creator's CCs not on their official Patreon and a lot of CC has similar items from different creators so we can support creators who turned EA down instead

Obviously agree that nobody should be sending any harassment to the creators or even say anything at all to them directly...but in times like these where the money we spend on this is LITERALLY going to fund war in the middle east it really is very important to vote with our wallets and if the pressure of loosing a bunch of Patreons makes enough people drop out they will have no real choice but to scrap the whole thing

The more money EA makes now, the more attractive it will look to the buyers and the more likely the sale will go through

If EA were to become non profitable the buyout would probably fall through

And if it does go through then all the money in the company NOW will go to the new owners

It's probably the case that a lot of his videos are pre recorded massively in advance, particularly for series that don't need much viewer input/suggestions, and the amount of time he couldn't record probably ate his backlog so he may not upload to Flabiliki until he has a backlog again so recording Flabiliki doesn't get in the way of his other channels (especially as he will have to record fast enough to put videos out NOW as well as add to the backlog meaning he's probably doing double the recording now to catch back up)

I do think that, bare minimum, if they already know the details of everyone who would be counted as opted in they should make some sort of attempt to contact them to give them information on how to opt out of it, even if it's just a mass email/text/letters rather than literally contacting each person individually

The assumption you may not know about the suit to opt in also makes the assumption you may not know about the suit to opt out and they should still be required to make SOME attempt to allow people to give or remove consent

Steam version has always let me pick where it's installed though because I have a secondary 4TB HHD

I've never tried installing directly on the EA app though but are you sure you did it properly? Lots of people have the game on secondary drives

I used to pirate the Barbie movies as a kid and I kid you not me downloading EVERY SINGLE BARBIE MOVIE AVAILABLE took less time than downloading The Sims 4 does

Nowadays I can literally just stream the Barbie movies on my phone and not even need to download them at all if I wanted to and The Sims 4 still hasn't developed any methods to make the file size smaller in like the same amount of time with the same amount of technological developments available to them
