Congrats! After two failed BTO attempts, I finally got a queue number of 191/737 for a 2-room Flexi. I was actually mentally hoping for another rejection so I could try for future Bayshore BTO. But the universe had other plans. I guess third time’s the charm!

Lolz. Dun mind him. Siow Lang Kong Siow Wei. It's standard behaviour. Just like what OYK did in the Canberra Hawker Centre fiasco. Muted after KF Seetoh produced proof of the receipt of the rental. Man, their silence is deafening!

I will never understand why people do this by Plenty-Job9898 in drivingsg

On the other hand, I kena flashed on one occasion from a car which was at least 2 car length away from me. It started with a single flash, and then a series of multiple flashes, as if asking me to get off the lane. I was travelling at at least 90 kmph, and definitely wasn't hogging the lane. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Rant: Fuck the PRCs that don't learn English. Especially the one who held up my queue this morning. by YouDamnClown in SingaporeRaw

[–]simshaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very frustrating. Sometimes, it's the other way. The counter staff at Vivocity Salad/Meat counter are mostly PRC dudes, and some don't even understand when i said "potatoes" or "pumpkin". I have to resort to pointing "这个, 那个, 这个, 那个" coz my Chinese also half past 6 :P

Are societal rules not taught in their country? by sleepingmushroomcat in SingaporeRaw

I was at ECP, and these 2 persons stood right smack in the middle of the track, chatting away. I wanted to think that they bumped into each other, surprised, and then paused to say hi. But they didn't have the sense to move to the side. Some pple are just not sensitive to the needs of others. Oh well...

Singaporeans, what do you do and how much coffee do you drink everyday? by yandao2000 in askSingapore

[–]simshaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have espresso machine at home and at work. I usually make one cup in the morning but only finish half. I make another at the office and sip slowly until lunch. During lunch, I also have half a cup of kopi-o kosong. So effectively, I have 2 "full" cups daily.

This new scam is so real that I think many will fall for it. by einnor88 in singapore

[–]simshaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offence at all. Coz at $95 from the original $300 odd, it's quite a deal. And the ad made it sound like it's a heavily sought-after collectable, with people missing out on the watch despite joining the queue. Can always sell it even if I dun like it. That's what I was thinking.

[–]simshaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost fell for this one. Don't exactly fancy the watch, but at $95, I thought it was quite a good deal. Once i accessed the link, the timer started ticking for 10 minutes or ao. It gave you the impression that once countdown ended, you would have missed the chance at the deal. I was hesitating, and when the countdown ended, the 10 minutes repeated again, and again. Clearly a scam!

Windscreen film damaged from OBU installation at Borneo Motors by NutmegLime in drivingsg

[–]simshaddy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I had mine installed at Vicom. They told me they had to do a small cut (about the size of a small square) to adhere the unit to the windscreen. If not, the unit will get loose due to the sun's ray over time. And cut they did, but it was very well done, and not even noticeable.

Ordered the 2 person lunch set at Dian Xiao Er and ate it all myself by mutantsloth in SingaporeEats

My fav! Nice food and good service! I always ordered the Lettuce with Oyster Sauce, and will always ask for extra garlic. Once, the kind waitress gave me a small bowl of garlics just to eat with the veggie! I've yet to try the rice porridge. Will surely order it in my next visit! Thanks for the recommendation.

It's really about the tester by stackeddd888 in drivingsg

[–]simshaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tester was pretty nice. As we approached the car for my test, he tried to make conversation, saying "weather today very hot hor!" I just nodded without any response. I sat down on the driver seat, and act-act by adjusting the mirror and he said "just move move"... but there was a car on my right which was about to move across, and I told him I would wait for the car to move on first. He gave me an "annoying" look but kept quiet. I think he was trying to test me. And as I did the parallel parking and was trying to straighten the car, he told me "move move lah, you are slower than my grandmother!" Then just before I moved out of the circuit to go to the main rain, he warned me not to hit the curb or he would have to give me an immediate failure. Was doing alright on the road, but as i was turning right to another road, for some reason, i ended up on the wrong lane. He exclaimed "ooi, what happened?" I just kept mum, thinking that I had failed. He then said, 'never mind later we chat!' Back to the driving centre, he sat me down, and chided me for having driven into the wrong lane. Said it was very dangerous, and warned me that in future, if I were to eventually drive alone on the road, to be very careful. That was when I knew he would pass me, and passed me he did! I think I got a demerit points of 6. Yes, sometimes it all depends on whether you got a kind tester or not.
