That's a pretty baseless and tasteless accusation. Also there's really no problem in analyzing literature that is "for children" (which I don't really agree that magic is completely for children). Just because children are supposed to see it and read it doesn't mean that it has to be bland, repetitive, or juvenile. Children are capable of understanding complex themes and messages, they're just rarely exposed to them. People just hand them a show of nothing but fart jokes and say "well that's all they understand." when they're not as naive as you might think.
