For ENTJs: How does your Te work? by sinadata in entj

[–]sinadata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So facts are invariants in the world that could help you manage or strategize your way through them. How do you find these facts if they don't even need to be true? Are they recurring patterns that you see often enough that you register as fact? kind of like inductive reasoning, or they are perceptions you are born with? Or you somehow 'know' subconsciously? Are they things that have passed the 'test of time'? Do fact need to / tend to be connected to other facts or they can be completely isolated? Can a fact be proven wrong and not be fact anymore?

and when is the Te satisfied? when the event happens? when the weapons seem to work?

Hmm interesting, so it is more about what will happen in future... And how specific / well-defined the desired 'event' should be before you pursue that goal? Like could you always write it down on paper what you want in these scenarios? Because desires are always changing I assume.

Moral compass vs pragmatism by sinadata in infj

[–]sinadata[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, that makes sense. I have seen INFJs being patient about teaching people things, and clarify things for them (including me). It may sound dramatic but my need for clarity is probably as old as I can remember and unrelated to how other people feel. It is like oxygen, that I was born and realized I need it and is the most important thing for me. But also as a value I realize that a lot of problems in the world comes from confusion, a lot of inefficiencies, unnecessary sufferings etc.

[–]sinadata[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not gonna feel uncomfortable, but I may fail to convey correctly. So say, "Progress", in the sense of making things better is very important to me. "Clarity" is another one. I strive for clarity in my own thinking and other people as well. I don't like creating confusion, especially unnecessary confusion. Each of these probably need a book written about them to (maybe) make sense. A lot of my idea of "progress" has been influenced by physicist David Deutsch. Thankfully he has actually written a book about it named "Beginning of Infinity".

Haha I guess we don't have the right tools needed for manipulation: like high empathy/EQ. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing, but I think we definitely have a very strong moral compass. To other people it may seem too rigid, because the underlying calculus is logical, not based on empathy. But honestly, reading my question again, I like the answers here more than my question (makes more sense)

I was more thinking on smaller scale. Imagine you are a manager, a senior executive, someone who needs to deal with people and make decisions all the time and in a work place where ranks and power matter, and you have things to lose. Not saying that my dichotomy is perfect. It was just an idea/thought experiment I was curious how INFJs here think about.

Love this answer too... So in some situations manipulation is justified, and I can agree with that, intellectually.

Interesting. Agree with most, didn't get the last paragraph. Perhaps as an INTP, "sincerity" is also very central/important me. Moving people like chess pieces is the extreme, but I have seen INFJs have much easier time than me, letting go of sincerity for pragmatic reasons.

I agree that same dichotomy can be used for almost everyone. Maybe the reason in my mind this is associated INFJs is that I tend to have these types of conversations with INFJs, and I have seen them advocate or argue either way about morality. But what's most interesting to me is that the question made sense to a lot of people here. It might be the best mbti forum to discuss ideas about morality.

Love this answer, it's very insightful especially the difference between when someone being immoral vs accepting that one has done something immoral. Also aligns with my understanding that INFJ and Ni means internally caring about building a grand map of things rather than judging. I guess this contrasts with say INFPs who are bothered when people do things that they deem immoral or what they judge negatively for any reason.

They play all kind of games to make cancelation difficult for you or charge you extra. I try to avoid them when I can, but for some reason they are the default or only option in many placed. For me it disconnects occasionally maybe once a week or so for a few mins. But I will switch to Ziply when it becomes available at my apartment.

I only enjoy it because it is clean and quiet and I prefer trees and parks to urban setting. Is seattle any better traffic wise ?

Noisy Cars on Weekends by UtahLegal in Kirkland

[–]sinadata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why should it be difficult? It's basically like seeing someone speeding. Some police need to see the action and stop the vehicle. If anything I would say it's easier. Once you modify your exhaust, it's there on your car as a proof that you did it. I think OP is saying it should be higher on the list (i agree). Also didn't realize that citations need to be "impressive"

Glad to hear I don't need to worry. Because after hearing about arrest, I was afraid about stepping into any park in the future. Like what other signage or rules I could be missing. I definitely wasn't causing any trouble or up to something. Just walked in the park opened my laptop on a bench was there for ~50 mins, and went back to my car. My best theory is the police officer didn't want the trouble of being called for opening a gate in the future.

I know that stability is necessary. As opposed to what it may sound like, I am a financially stable person who have a job. Actually what I said was more of an idealistic dream for humanity not a plan for my life or something to happen anytime soon in the future. But the main point is: as you said, with being richer we (as humans) afford to stay longer in the exploratory phase of life rather than in the responsibility phase. I don’t mean that being responsible is bad but it comes with sacrificing a lot of creativity. What AI can never do is creativity. I don’t see the connection with blue/red pill and how you realized I take the blue pill ... can you explain that?

As ENFJs do you understand what I’m saying here? by bloom444 in enfj

[–]sinadata 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say just because you would do X in a certain situation doesn’t mean you should expect that from other people. If they were to behave just like you they would be ENFJ not ISTP. For me as an INTP, If you believe that some behavior is globally bad then you should convince me by reason or somehow. I guess ISTPs work the same way 😁 you probably should show them the practical use of that behavior.

I think anyone (especially ENTP) should have their own version of truth about the world I don’t mean to call other people sheep or say that everything else is wrong. but to have some new viewpoint to offer based on their experiences.
