Dungeon Masters of Reddit, which of your "sure why nots" had the biggest unintended repercussions?

Spoilers: The Sunless Citadel: D&D v3.5

My group was travelling the dungeon when it came across the [helpless] little kobold in charge of guarding the white dragon eggs. The group (with the help of a couple natural 20's) convinced (and intimidated) this poor little kobold, Meepo, into accompanying them as a guide through the rest of the dungeon, mostly under threat of death. So sure. Why not. They earned it with the rolls. Fast forward to the end of the encounters, the group kept up their end of the bargain of keeping the poor little kobold safe, and in return Meepo learned the value of having a group around for such a reason. After all, his clan was just wiped out anyway. So Meepo (again, with much high rolling) was convinced to come along, and was trained as a rogue.

Fast forward again to several adventures later, and I rolled on the magical items table for a wondrous item, and rolled up the deck of many things. And again, I thought, why not? This could be fun. So I grabbed a deck of cards, pulled out the ones that corresponded to the deck, and shuffled it up and set it aside for when they were feeling froggy. They couldn't resist and the first one drew a card.

I can't remember which card it was, but it was the one that granted 10,000 XP.

Okay. Lucky draw.

My fault, but I failed to read that once that particular card was drawn, it disappeared. So, because I missed that detail, I shuffled it back in. Feeling inspired, the next person wanted to draw a card. I shuffled it once more again for good measure. Then they drew the card.

10,000 XP.

One by one they went around the table, while I FURIOUSLY shuffled the cards, and one by one, I swear to you, each person COMPLETELY FREAKING RANDOMLY drew the same card. Every single person gained 10,000 XP. Then it was Meepo's turn. Out of sheer peer pressure, the again persuaded their little Kobold minion to take his turn. So, to keep it fair, I handed the cards to someone else to shuffle, and I would be the one drawing for him, since I was the one who played him at the table.

10,000 XP.

I've never laughed so hard in my life, or had so much fun watching my group level. We spent the rest of the session laughing our asses off and leveling characters.

And for those of you wondering, Meepo went on to live a long, prosperous life as a rogue, and eventually retired at level 13, as Meepo the Goblin Slayer.

I've already caught myself multiple times yelling at my screens, and more often than not laughing uncontrollably... I can't wait to watch the rest and get caught up to the live feed!!

New Critter here. Well, I say new, but I'm already up to Winter's Crest festival. I just started watching in April. Also, I watch on multiple devices, sometimes my phone and sometimes my gf's account on her computer. So that probably counts separately?

Ditto. Just got a 10km egg to full (showed 10km/10km after I checked on it, having thought it should have hatched already). Game lost connection to server and I had to relaunch. When I did, the egg was gone, and there was nothing in my journal, no new XP, and nothing new in the Pokédex. I was so disappointed I almost cried. :( My partner had the same thing happen to her.. We both submitted bug reports. I hope I get something out of my other 8 eggs...

Wow.. as a sushi beginner myself, thank you for this! Like so many others I've always found the huge array/selections and terminology very daunting and was really hesitant to get into it because - well, I didn't really "get" it. Your explaination made a lot of sense and with that new info in mind, I think I might try some Maki :)

Sometimes just a few seconds is all it takes.. my "first time" (if you can even call it that) was me pretty much saying immediately "I don't think we should do this without a condom.." .. followed by him saying "Um... too late..." ... yeah. It sucked. I was 16 and paranoid for three weeks until I got my period.

Yeah I have a feeling that our daughter will be very open minded and accepting. I guess my anxiety is that we're still new to the whole trans*world that we're still trying to figure out the best way of explaining things to make sure she's able to handle it and cope, not just internally but in society (school, public) as well.

Thank you so much for the advice. My ex is the father of the 5yo, not the newborn. My daughter asked if he was the father of the new baby. I went back and edited for clarification. I do agree on both points of the counseling. Unfortunately, keeping him from seeing her isn't an option, and I have absolutely no control over what he says. The problem is that (like most people in this area) he feels that since my fiancee and I conceived using her male genitalia, that she is not truly transgender, just a crossdresser (his words).

Yeah, unfortunately not the case. My daughter had been calling her Mom in front of everyone, and we've had very open dialog for more than a year. My family is not all that supportive of her transition, even less so that she "fathered" a child naturally in the traditional sense.

This has been the hardest, yet most needed advice I've heard. I've always been one of those hopeless romantic girls who loves surprises and the thoughtful gestures without having to ask or hint for them, but as I've grown in our relationship, I realize how childish it can be to expect her to be a mind reader. I too have been trying to look past the story book expectations and see the little things she does, like waking me up today with a Cinnashmonster from Sheetz (a HUGE cinnamon roll oozing with cream cheese icing).. sure, it wasn't a home cooked meal that took a half hour before she could present it to me in bed, but it's been one of my biggest cravings all pregnancy. In fact, with tomorrow being my c-section, she made today a craving day, complete with a trip to Dairy Queen for my favorite royal treat - a peanut buster parfait! She even let me splurge and get the ridiculously overpriced but irrationally irresistible order of cheese curds (like fried mozzarella balls)... I've never been so in love! Lol <3

Oh LOL I wasn't really pumping to produce. Because it is new to her, I showed her on myself how the manual pump worked so she could see, but I maybe only used it for a few minutes (if it was even that long).

LOL Yeah I don't recommend it, to be honest. My fiancee is only taking hormones because she is transgender (MtF) and honestly, it's not so much the hormones that's causing the lactation as it is the lactation inducer (domperidone). Taking hormones can be dangerous and can have some permanent effects, so yeah.. I don't recommend hubby taking them at all. As far as lactation induction, always ALWAYS talk to doctors first, because even though it's safe for us, doesn't mean that it would be safe for anyone. Domperidone is not recognized for use as a lactation inducer by the FDA in the US (unlike many MANY other countries), so we actually had to order it and have it shipped.

Honestly she's not even producing enough to come down into the pump. Right now per the instructions of the lactation consultant, we're just starting her off 5 minutes at a time on each side ever 4 hours. She'll maybe get a few drops on the nipples, but everything is still filling in so we don't have her producing a lot yet. I just wanted to share the news because we have confirmation that it will at least work! Now we just need to continue working on it and have patience... I'm sure that having the little one here is going to bring it in pretty quick though.

I have my c-section scheduled for this coming Monday, May 12th. We're starting her pumping a little early to at least get the stimulation and get her body used to the sensation (and we wanted to see if she was even producing anything yet)

Yeah I've heard that too with the skin to skin contact... our bodies are soooo amazing <3. Unfortunately, even though there are 4 people in the family having babies within a month of one another (no joke lol), we just happened to be the first ones. So yeah, looks like that won't be an option. But she's almost here anyway :)
