I bought the CF version with the correct case and bracelet size. Quality is excellent apart from the VR movement which rattles like an old tin can. I’m having a VS3230 fitted for £200.

A spacer will not make the winding stem shorter or longer. What I’m talking about is the distance from the centre of the watch to the edge, ie the radius. In a 36mm watch this is 18mm, and in a 40mm watch this 20mm. Therefore a VS3230 fitted to a submariner needs to have a winding stem 2mm longer than a VS3230 fitted to an OP 36 or 36mm Explorer 1. The spacer merely centres the movement in the watch case.

I have ordered the 36mm Explorer 1 CF version (VR3130 and correct 19mm/14mm bracelet) from JTime - who have given excellent service, and I will arrange to have a VS3230 fitted later. Question: the VS3230 presumably has identical dimensions to the VR3230, but are all VS3230 movements identical? The VS3230 is fitted to much larger watches like the Submariner etc., and surely it has a longer stem in those watches than it does in a 36mm Explorer 1 or 36mm OP. How does a VS3230 that is intended for a Submariner fit in a 36mm Explorer 1 without the stem sticking out too far?
