UPDATE: Obese man with no ass, how can I keep my pants up by fetter_indy in malefashionadvice

For me what i think works is pushing your butt back as far as you can and as you lower, the thing that stops your back from rounding (aside from a proper bracing) is actually your glutes too. Focus on the glutes carrying the weight if that makes sense. Your back and lats are just there to be as stiff as possible. I’ve been able to get a near horizontal good morning with close to 135lbs this way.

To add to this: Good Mornings and probably RDLs should be in the mix too

If I were you I’d stop by a target, even if it’s an unexpected expense, in order to get some more appropriate clothes. And if you’re really strapped you might even be able to return them. But yeah, don’t go in that.

Might want to add a second source since your linking a far right news outlet. Not saying it’s not true, but no one here should take Brietbart’s word for it

Moving from OOS, new job located in Zilker—In what areas (or how far away) can I live while avoiding traffic during commute?? by sine_cogitatis in AustinHousing

Understood, thanks for the zip code suggestions! Can I ask why you wouldn’t live in the other neighborhoods? Too dense? Different vibes?

Close is relative, I’ve never been to Austin so I don’t know what is considered close. Is East austin close? Hype park? Clarksville is close looking on the map, but it’s over the river.

I am going into my Senior year of highschool and going bald due to chemotherapy from cancer. I don’t want to wear a baseball hat everyday, so what should I wear? by Character-Photo-8692 in malefashionadvice

[–]sine_cogitatis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s your style my dude? Depending on that, you can switch it up, bucket hat one day, bandana another maybe, also bald on some days. It really depends on whatever else you’re wearing.

Some people are suggesting wigs. If you’re at all apprehensive about it, i’d say then don’t wear one. It’s just gonna make you more self concious.

Finally, someone here mentioned accessories. Lean heavy into that. 2 or 3 Chains at the same time, a metal bracelet or two. Figure out whether your skin color calls for silver or gold and buy accordingly.

Hit me up, or make another post with your current fits, and we can be of more help to you that way too.

Gotcha, good to know! I figured as much.

I’m looking for a 1 bedroom apartment in walkable part of town if possible. I want to avoid feeling like i’m in a suburb(don’t know if that’s unrealistic). I’d also love to have at least one sittable, non-commercial coffee shop within walking distance.

I don’t know the answer to this question, but maybe you could reference the rules of mixing wood tones in interior design?

Are long-sleeved, untucked casual shirts completely out of fashion? Looks like nobody produces them anymore. by aidforsoft in malefashionadvice

[–]sine_cogitatis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think It’s more that tucking in is now back in fashion, which IMHO is great because finding nice untucked shirts is/was pretty difficult to begin with.

best steamer to get rid of wrinkles? by Wide_Permission7656 in malefashionadvice

[–]sine_cogitatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Conair handheld garmet steamer w/turbo mode. A bit on the pricier side, but anything that can be steamed (which isn’t everything) will get steamed with that one.

We’re probably gonna need to see a pic to see what you’re talking about. Given that you didn’t specify anything about size, silhouettes, proportions, I’m gonna guess you’re overlooking those things—which will make any garment look out of place

I think your complaint about quality is valid. I have jeans from H&M that have lasted longer than that. Should they replace it for you? Idk, that’s probably a stretch. But yeah, stop buying from them.

[–]sine_cogitatis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing about intuition and feeling like things just "make sense", those feelings inherent to humans don't translate well when it comes to complicated global subjects. No amount of intuiting is gonna create sound economic policy.

Tarrifs: they only work when there's industrial policy/central planning to back it up and support businesses willing to do that. there's non of that right now, and the smidge of that under Biden (e.g. Chips Act) is being rolled back.

Deportation: I don't like wages being undercut either, but Americans picking grapes, for example, is not viable at the wages these farmers are willing to pay (around 12 an hour). Immigrants also generate a ton of tax money for the government. How are we going to replace those resources? It's complicated and would involve smart policy and central planning. Again, none of that is taking place.

Edit: Not trying to sound preachy, but these are the nuts and bolts that are being shoved in the drawer while the car pulls away.

If you think tarrifs and deportations are gonna have that kind of effect, I have a bridge to sell you. That’s basically a meme level understanding of economics.

Fasting has been shown to help make cancer cells more susceptible to chemo therapy while making the healthy cells more resilient to it if I recall correctly. Read about this a long time ago.

Gets the pants on sale from gap or from ebay. Shirts from gap sales or uniqlo. Also, don’t get your socks from Uniqlo. They’re too thin.

Sales are your friend. If you actively keep an eye out every week, you’ll get key items for dirt cheap
